I just tuned into the Hawks/Magic game, in time to see Al-Farouq Aminu hit a three-point shot. Which is how I learned that Al-Farouq Aminu was still in the league.
No offense to Shaq but his game was catch and dunk. He was so good at it he's got 4 championships and he's in the Hall of Fame but trying to argue how teams should defend the 3pt line when he never had to do it in his 19 years as a player is not a good look for him.
There's also that part where's Shaq's idea of useful advice is, "You just have to go dominate." Really, Shaq? That's all you have to do? Well, gee, why didn't anyone else think of that?

Minnesota and Orlando do seem like natural trading partners, though. The Wolves have too many SG/Sf types, while the Magic have too many power forwards.
Am I allowed to be annoyed that Shaq is on the show tonight, completely no-selling the table spot he took last night?
It's easy to forget this now when Mr. Triple Double has become cemented in fans heads as a stat padding me-first player but way back before that MVP season that really started it all, his talent and relentless aggressiveness were the driving forces in OKC become a contender. KD is a great scorer but he's never been able to lead a team on his own. I think Russ is hated now for a lot of the same reasons Kobe was hated. He'd rather do it himself than wait to see what his teammates can do. Both of them definitely took that tendency into the negative when smarter plays were available to them but it's hard to find a genuine superstar who doesn't toe that line and end up on the wrong side of it from time to time.

He also lost his gaming sponsorships already with ASTRO Gaming, Origin PC and Scuf Gaming all cutting ties.

Well that’s what the media keeps saying so it must be true.
Really have to wonder for all the blame Gentry shouldered how they can be even worse with a new coach. Also I have zero interest in evaluating Gentry for half a season so good job tonight Kings.

Their big concern was Gentry getting nothing out of the team defensively but supposed defensive coach Stan van Gundy is also struggling to get these guys to play competent defense so maybe it wasn't just the coaching in this case.

The Hawks only have two more wins than the Kings and did the basketball equivalent of taking out a second mortgage on their house to bet on a dark horse at the Kentucky Derby. At least they still have most of their draft capital going forward but they've essentially turned into the Kings the year Vlade gave away a bunch of assets to use cap space on a bunch of guys we didn't need.
