I don't know why: they're going through the motions. With the possible exception of Cousins, who's still trying to play his way into shape, there's not a single player on the Golden State Warriors who cares about a regular season game against a team whom there's no mathematical chance that they could play again this season.
If the Warriors had any interest in winning that game last night, they wouldn't have managed Kevin Durant's "load."
That trade may work out for the Hawks, yet; especially if they get a good player with that pick. Atlanta's maybe a player away from having a sneaky good young core, and they should have two decent lottery picks this year.
Hawks headed to a third overtime, missing three key players: John Collins (DNP-Illness), Dewayne "Taker" Dedmon (fouled out) and Taurean Prince (fouled out).
EDIT - Oh yeah, and Omari Spellman (starting PF) turned an ankle in the second half.

What I just noticed is that Klay Thompson has only missed two games all season, and both of them have been against Philadelphia. Wonder what that's about?
