Postgame Quotes-at Golden State

Kings Coach Rick Adelman
The boards killed us, the boards and the little things that we gave them… Baron made shots and Dunleavy made shots. They haven’t been shooting the ball that well so you give them credit."

"It’s the long rebounds. (If) you’re taking long shots, you have to track those down. You can’t give them up. That just gives them second shots."

"We didn’t do enough defensively to shut them down. You can’t win on the road if you’re going to give up opportunities to a team like we did tonight."

"They have a nice team. I think they’re learning how to win. That’s important. They had some success early and it’s probably carrying over for them."

"I was just trying to play hard and step up. That is my role on this team to provide a little energy and help out the other guys. It was a tough loss tonight. Golden State is an excellent team that is playing well right now, but we just have to get back to playing Kings basketball that is getting out on the fast break and hitting three’s and just try to play better defense."

" We were trying to get a win. We were trying to make plays and get it going. We dug ourselves in a hole, so basically we were trying to fight back and get where we needed to be. I was just trying to be aggressive out there."

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Head Coach Mike Montgomery:
"Dunleavy had nineteen points to Stojakovic’s nine. Well it was Peja’s second game back. But it’s always a plus to win that match-up."

"The guys just needed a breather. Baron Davis played forty-eight minutes. They took their time with their shot so they didn’t have to go and defend on the other side. We tried to switch on (Mike) Bibby and (Peja) Stojakovic, but we got beat every time."

Mike Dunleavy:
"We’ll see if the slump is over. I play it game by game. Tonight the shots went down and that’s just the way it is. I’m trying to get more involved and things are getting better. The team is doing well—so I’m pleased."

"We’ll see if the balance is shifting. It’s very early and we have to play these guys three more times. We got them tonight and we’ll see what happens the rest of the way. We feel really good about the way we’re playing."

"This is where we want to be. This is a great start and hopefully we’ll keep it up."

Jason Richardson:
"We came out and played good on the offensive end. We shared the ball. Guys hit some big shots—Mike (Dunleavy) hit a big three at the end. Adonal (Foyle) made some big plays. We had a good game."

"This was a statement game. I look at it as a rivalry. They’re up north, an hour away from us. They used to whoop on us. It was like a big brother thing the last couple of years—whatever. We now know that it’s changing around."

"The balance is shifting in this division. It’s still a tough division. The Western Conference is always tough. We’re just playing good right now."

It's not a rivalry yet, Jason. A mini-one? Guess you could say that.

Also too early for the balance to be shifting, I'll say around Jan/Feb. for that to start going.

He must of been caught up in the heat of the win, as some of those comments are just weird. Dunleavy's middle section comments are more realistic and better.

Montgomery couldn't of been serious in his first comments, lol

"We didn’t do enough defensively to shut them down. You can’t win on the road if you’re going to give up opportunities to a team like we did tonight." - Rick

So, up that for most of the year....
