Much ado about nothing?

Being told that the mood at today's Kings practice was actually good and productive. The guys seemed together. Losing can hurt chemistry.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe, just maybe, yelling and sniping and bickering is part of the process. I know nobody can fight like family can fight.

:)

If anything I'm glad to see them arguing and bickering at each other when they are playing as selfish and terrible as a team, it' show's me guys have had enough of the bs basketball and are calling each other out for it as it should be.

I would be more concerned if they were smiling/calm on the bench during the game after putting up the pee weak effort they all put up on defence game in game out. They should be pissed off with each other this so far has been the most embarrassing Kings team in the last 7 years considering Cousins is putting up AS numbers and we got Gay/IT backing him up and some "potential" young talent in Mclemore/Williams.

They all need to get it together and actually apply common sense and effort on defence and quit playing like a bunch of ****ing losers. The Isaiah Thomas refusing to pass to JT and Williams effort on the loose ball were two of the worst plays in recent memory it's stuff like that which gets everyone annoyed and infuriated and sets of a chain reaction to further bs and non productive basketball at both ends.

Somebody said earlier and I agree. I'd be a lot more concerned if they weren't arguing a little when losing games they should win.

I doubt there aren't issues in the locker room. What we saw yesterday on the court wasn't a coincidence, just a normal routine for an NBA team. The bickering within the team reached what was an all-time high for this current group and was on display for all to see.

Now, I can see Dave trying to cover his own a** for leaking something on twitter he probably shouldn't have.

That being said, it might not be serious enough we see players moved immediately. But I think there's little doubt there's issues festering in our locker room and players will be moved by the deadline if possible. Dave and people within the organization might attempt to cover/suppress some of what is happening, but it's damn obvious this is more than just the occasional words between teammates. C'mon, we've all watched the league for years, it's rare to see arguing to the extent we saw last night. It's also natural for a team to try to cover it up and get on with playing. Doesn't mean the issues aren't still present. Malone didn't act like it was much ado about nothing either during his interview last night either. Said his greatest challenge was keeping these guys together and not letting the whole thing unravel. There's definite smoke here. Question is how big are the flames.

Also, maybe Dave should shut up.

much ado about nothing, indeed, but not because tensions may have eased up a bit. it's much ado about nothing because half the roster could change yet again in the offseason. DMC is here to stay, and that appears to be the only certainty. as long as he remains bought in, as long as he's holding himself accountable for his level of play, then i see no problem with this mess of a roster making a mess of itself. admitting there's a problem is always the first step. now it's up to the kings' front office to continue reshaping the team...

I think it could easily be both.

DMC did give poor effort when he got super frustrated, but those points he allowed to Al Jefferson weren't due to lack of effort or being in the wrong position. Big Al is too much to handle one on one for most guys in this league. But when kemba walker has done anything he wants all night long, how do you send a double team? Any pick or ball movement and the whole defense falls apart. Instead of tough shots one on one, it'd be wide open layups or 3s. I couldn't tell if the frustration was due to the lack of a double team, or at himself for not stopping him, or what. But he cares, that much is certain.

Point being, DMC is bought in still. I said elsewhere the Rudy trade was devastating and got disbelief from someone. The bench got weak, especially the guards. In-fighting was an inevitable result cause you have supremely talented guys like Rudy and Cuz suddenly forced to play with very bottom of the barrel 10-12th man talent, like jimmer and acy, (or producing like it, in MT) in key moments. Your PG rotation is two 3rd year guys backed up by a rookie second rounder. And your sgs are a raw rookie and a vet who fell off the edge of the world and hadn't come back yet. Losing GV and Salmons made our guard rotation significantly below avg.

Yeah CD sort of lit this fuse on twitter, and now is apparently trying to pinch it out. I think he was likely right the first time.

I think CD realized he leaked something he shouldn't have. He may have jeopardized his locker room privileges with leaks like this.

Maybe CD is breaking the code of "what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room" code for people with back room access and he is now trying to downplay what happened.

I wouldn't have passed to JT on that play. I'm not going to pass to a clumsy 6'11" guy on the break when he's roughly parallel to where I am on the floor. If he's standing there underneath the basket, alone, fine, but not when they are going full speed.

"DeMarcus trying to establish a presence and it's not coming off for a lot of players on the team," per C. Dave. In essence, he's trying to be a leader, but he's probably not doing it the right way. I agree with C. Dave that it's less the "baby Cousins" problem as it is a young man trying to find his way. That said, he would be better off if he focused on his own business and is the model of professionalism. A great example from the best player goes a long ways.

Quite frankly they can follow DeMarcus' lead or they can get out of town. I wouldn't be surprised if the real problem is certain players thinking they're on the same level of Cuz and rejecting him as the leader.

Wahahaha at some point you IT guys really get funny. Especially when you consider that these are the very same plays you used to criticize Evans for.

I think the leadership needs to ultimately come from Malone with a kick in from Rudy while DMC hopefully grows into it.

I'm not sure there isn't another guy trying to take the reigns though.

On the radio, CD did say there are factions being made but that Cuz and IT were on the same page. He mentioned that there was a rift between Cuz and JT but didn't elaborate....didn't really elaborate on anything specifically other than Cuz ....hates losing and is trying to be a leader....although maybe being to much of an a-hole at times but bottom line is the losing is unacceptable....which is a great point on what Cuz is upset about.

I think JT is probably moved by the deadline.

You push the ball up inside the 3 point arc, then drop it off to him for a no dribble two step flush

One play and 9 pages of thread on here? Let's move on. They had better lose against Portland tomorrow or our heads will really be screwed up. Remember, I gotta go to Friday's game.

Okay, this is really small of me but I want to know who/what the factions are. Yes, it's none of my business, but I support these guys through thick & thin so I'm willing to look tacky.
  • I'm guessing one camp is the Futures, consisting of DMC, IT, Rudy-Quincy-Sasquatch, and Ben.

  • The other would be the Yesterdays... JT, MT, Chuck, and anyone else who used to be somebody. These are the guys who've lived with the worst of DMC and now get to watch their role diminish while he gets the spotlight.

  • That would leave a third camp, the Lost Boys (guys with no role/future), who are not affiliated with either group and just remain frustrated and in limbo. I see Jimmer in this camp.
Does this seem at all close to reality?

I don't know if you're right but if you are then Chuck Hayes has to be the most disturbing locker room presence ever if he is making waves all the way from Toronto.

I don't think it really matters what factions are being created. This is a 10 win team whose best player, head coach and ownership (led by Vivek) are desperate to show/see some signs of improvement rather than another wasted season. If they can put it together and start showing some signs of life then the sniping and infighting will simmer down. If they don't (which is more likely the case) then you'll see PDA continue to try to gut the team and the guys squabbling will find themselves on different teams anyway.

I'm not going to ask. I'm not going to ask.

I'd be disappointed if IT and DMC are in the same "faction". I wouldn't be surprised if they were, cos they've always been buddies, but I just don't see us winning many games with the two of them. I don't believe that their styles mesh.
