I have 5 of my best mates over there at the moment on a cricket tour. I hope they along with others are safe and ok.

Unfortunately the death toll will probably rise as the day goes on.
Security is being stepped up majorly around the world at all commuter (train, bus, subway, etc.) areas.

I have no clue what's going on over there yet, I just got home but LK contacted me and wanted me to tell eveyrone he's OK but can't log into the site. He can't get home, he uses the "subway" there and they obviously aren't letting anyone on these modes right now. He works in London but lives outside and is stranded until further notice, probably tomorrow night he said.
I have a lot of family still there and I'm praying they're all OK. This is such a tragedy.

Whew...I am so glad to hear that our LK is okay!! And I hope that you are able to contact your family there soon, loopymitch. Hopefully there is an organization such as the Red Cross to help out all the stranded passengers with food, shelter, etc. I'm sure there is.

From yesterday's high (winning the Olympic bid) to today's rock-bottom low, I feel for London and its people. For me, this whole tragedy is just unforgivably atrocious. In a troubled world, I fear the threat of terrorism always looms but reiterating Blair's convictions, violence should not change our societies or our values. We should not cower in defeat but continue fight for the good in the world. Terror should neither change nor dictate the way we live.

The absolute worst about this whole thing is the taking of innocent lives.

I am thankful that LK is safe. I pray that repairs, etc will get underway soon, and life will return to a small semblance of normal. My continued prayers for all Londoners and those who work there.

My friends were ok I got ahold of them not to long after I posted this thread. However others weren't as lucky and my prayers go out to them

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and concern.

My colleagues and i are safe...but obviously my heart goes out to those caught up in this.

It was quite scary (my office is not far away from Liverpool St station, the site of one of the blasts). There were helicopters and sirens..we couldnt leave the building..closer buildings were evacuated..they cut the cellphone capability (apparently text messages can be used to trigger devices).. The wee no buses, subway or overground trains for most of the day..some overground came active later..i stayed in hotel accomodation overnight as we couldnt be sure how easy it would be to get in today and the desk needed to be operational.

I really appreciate you thinking of me and the people who live and work in London.
