darko is younger... id rather have darko... but moore is cool if we can get rid of thomas and reef... miller is a lost cause but may actuall be more usefull with a player like moore as his back up... he'll only have to play 30 min per max....

Um...Mikki Moore is a complete nobody. A guy who has barely clung arounnd the league -- 8th team in 10 years or some such. Darko >>>>> Mikki.
Mikki Moore isnt the most well known center, but he is a very aggressive player and very scrappy.. He can shoot from about 18 feet, grab a few rebounds, block a shot here and there, has a decet hook shot... I like the idea of Mikki and Justin at the 4 and 5 ... Both very athletic and total defense guys/scrappy players... Mikki is 31 years old, but had a stellar year last year with NJ and seems to be a very late bloomer... I dont think he has had any serious injurys or anything...Good pick up by the kings! I wish that maybe the contract was for like 15 mill or less over 3 years, but I can live with this...Good move petrie!

Mmm...he just had a career little spurt there. Its not a 'late bloomer" thing. Still the same guy. And still just a roleplater. We could have had the same player, same talent last year for a 1yr vet min contract -- that's what Mikki has always lived on.

Mikki should be sending off a 3rd of his contract to Nenad Krstic (for getting injured) and another 3rd to Jason Kidd for making him look better than he really is (which kid has done to many scrubs throughout his career) and then you get to what Mikki's talent is worth in a normal NBA market

Ummmmm and I dont know why he should send some money over to Nenad??? He was injuryed half of the season and through the playoffs...I think it should be the oppisite way around.... Nenad should be giving him some money for keeping NJ alive for the rest of the season and into the playoffs...Thats just my take

Mikki Moore kept the Nets alive during the playoffs? I think not.
He's a solid 8th or 9th man, but the major gripe that people have with him is that he's gonna be making $6 million a year to grab a few rebounds a block a shot a game. There is nothing Moore is capable of that will make knowledgeable fans "jump on the bandwagon", especially not for this sorry excuse for a team.

Because if Nenad's knee didn't blow out Mikki wouldn't have had the minutes to play.
And even the biggest scrubs in the league have looked good next to Kidd but have gone back to their sucking ways once Kidd is out of the picture.
And please, if you think Mikki Moore kept the Nets alive in the play offs, then I feel sorry for you. IIRC there was that dude that averaged a triple double in the play offs. I think he goes by the name of Jason Kidd or something like that

Thats very true about how Kenyon Martin looking better than he really is cause of Jason kidd... BUT if anyone has watched basketball in general besides watching the kings( I am a Kings fan but I watch ALL basket ball games) than you should know that Mikki is not a kenyon martin clone, not by a LOONNNGGG shot! Has way more skill than martin will ever have...The only thing martin can do is dunk and thats it....period... Mikki willl be a good for our team...Oh yea and what you guys said about Bibby jacking up 3 all day, thats why we are trying to get rid of him... Cause he is not a TRUE point guard...Doesnt defend, or really try to look for the open man... OH also, you have to remember that Marcus Williams was also one that helped out at the point besides Kidd

You really don't need to preface your comments with some kind of justification on why yours is better than anyone else's.

Darko is 22. Mikki is 32. If Darko's a bust then Mikki's a never was, let alone consistent. If Darko never gets an ounce better he'll still have a better career than Mikki has.

Why do people say Moore is 32, he is 31 can't anyone add? Do you tell everyone you are a year older then you are? If we have him for two years, that is all we need him for. He is very good in the running game and can shoot very well. Go watch the video I posted, he is athletic and runs the floor well. At the allstar break, after you see him play for half a season we will talk about this again. Friends of mine back east think we got a good player that will really help us. Out west we don't get to see him play much so everyone assumes he must not be good because of all the negative people. After you watch him play a while, I will be saying to you "Who's your daddy now"

No, you are right, he won't be 32 until the opening week of the season. You know, when it actually matters.
And I'm afraid you are going to have to take a number to join the long line of foolish people expecting to get to say "who's your daddy" to me. Particularly when I inform you that I happen to live within 20 miles of Continental Airlines Arena (home of the New Jersey Nets). But by all means, you've got a youtube.
In any case, bleating aside, after all these years Mikki is going to be Mikki, nothing more nothing less. I woiuld even go so far as to make a prediction that he will become a fan favorite in the early going because of his flamboyance and athleticism, that there will slowly begin to be grumblings as the holes in his game are noticed, and that by the end of the season the standard refrain will be well, its Mikki. Can't ask too much more out of him.
And that's all entirely aside from the foolishness of comparing the career end of the bencher with Darko, who had as good a year at 21-22 as Mikki did in his career year at a decade older.
I'm still undecided about Darko. He had a great opportunity in Orlando and didn't make much out of that. So I don't think he would have been worth pursuing. I think we already have a young center in Hawes to watch grow during the rebuild. I'm as confused as everyone else on why Moore was signed. I thought Justin Williams would have been a cheaper option that addressed the Kings needs.
That said, the Kings fan base routinely goes nuts over players less talented than Moore simply because they put out effort, hustle and emotion. Moore will be a fan favorite before long because he does those things.

man, that totally made my day! i cannot WAIT to be asked "who's your daddy" once the awesomeness of mikki moore shines through. why, just last year i was being asked "who's your daddy" after the stellar play of loren woods (or jamal sampson. i forgot which it was last season, that was how awesome they were!!!).
