Saw on Dave's twitter this same poll. Seems that Monta was winning. Given the same contract length and money who would kingsfans.com rather have?

Both a gamble but Rondo is the one that could pay off biggest. I bealive Ben will continue to develop into a heck of a player.

If the same contract is one year I'd go Rondo. He may or may not be a monkey head and he may or may not be washed up but his risk is higher reward.

The option here is between a chucker and a guy who can't shoot....I'll take the guy who plays defense at least.

Rondo could max the production of the roster. Monta adds another volume scorer to a roster with two high usage guys already. Monta is the safer pick in terms of what we know what he'll bring but Rondo offers a higher reward if things go right.

If Rudy is on the team Rondo, if we trade Rudy than Monta all day

I hope neither one comes our way. These are two that have never rung my bell. If one joins us I'll do my best and root for their success.

Both have flaws obviously, but I would take Rondo.

Rondo, when healthy and motivated, can be the best play making PG in the league. I've wanted the Kings to trade for him a few years ago but his health cause a set back in his performance in the recent years.

He really does need to check his attitude and bring his FTs back up to at least high 60% range or it will be hackarondo down the stretch. Again, if healthy, Rondo is a very good and aggressive defender.

With Monta, you already know that even when healthy, he is going to score on high volume shots and not much defense.

Rondo is a former champion who wants to play here. Easy choice for me.
This is the argument I simply don't get, he was the 4th best guy, with a huge drop-off between 3rd and 4th place (the guy played almost identical minutes to James Posey...), on a championship team 7(!) years ago.

The same team featured Glen "big baby" Davis and Kendrick Perkins (meaningful minutes)- should we sign them as well? should I be excited because they used to play on a winning team?

I know some will say this is a straw-man, but looking only from the lense of "well, he is a champion"- the meaning of this is massively overrated.

It's not like he was the ball boy..

He was the floor general on that team and if he's not there, they don't win.

I understand there are a myriad of reasons why Rondo is a bad idea for the Kings ranging from personality fit to poor shooting to possibly being over the hill. However, I would absolutely love to see him playing in a Kings uniform next year. He has top point guard ability when he is focused and could be the missing piece to what would be an insanely athletic, big, and possibly stout defensive starting 5. Rondo, Mclemore, Gay, WCS, and Cousins would create huge matchup problems for teams especially if Mclemore or Stauskas find their shooting stroke. The upside is too much to pass up on a short term deal.

Rondo just understands the game. And I would think, he could teach our young guns and even DMC a thing or two.
Ellis? We let Tyreke and IT go for nothing and now decide to pay Ellis big money? Not a smart move.
