Monarchs playing TOUGH!!!!

If there are still some of you out there who doubt the legitimacy of the Monarchs or the WNBA in general, I invite you to watch this year's finals. I think you just might be in for a surprise.

This game tonight was as intense, as dramatic, as exciting as I possibly could have hoped for. The Monarchs took it to LA and were not going to be denied. They didn't get overconfident, they didn't forget what they were supposed to do.

They saw what needed to be done and they done it!!!

When does the game start? I don't think LA got the memo.

Kidding. Damn impressive effort by the Monarchs tonight! Luckily for us, the sparks are a 3rd quarter team, and not a 1st, 2nd, or 4th quarter team:D

Man Lisa gets all done up for the press conference lol. You see Yo and KLaw in their Shirts and jersey shorts, and lisa comes out with her skirt, heels, and was the a Louis Vuitton? haha jkjk ;p

Congrats to our ladies for earning a trip to the big dance for the 2nd straight year! :D

If the Monarchs continue to play suffocating defense like they have for most of 40 minutes in 4 straight playoff games, and give us just a wee bit of offensive punch, we'll celebrate a repeat.

Kingsgurl and I will try to extend our "lucky charming" streak one more time, we'll be courtside for Game 3.

GO MONARCHS !!!

Went to Hangar 17 & we watched the awesome domination...Monarchs Ran LA out of the pond & ended their season...bummer they even had to drive home! Great to see all the Monarch fans in the house at the Pond...would have loved to be with you all. Thanks for being loud & for sportin all the Purple. Monarchs are going back to the big dance...wow I'm so proud of this team & coaches. Monarchs at Arco next Sun. 2pm...lets sell this game out!

INTERVIEWER: Lisa Leslie, you didn't score in the final quarter of Game 3 against Seattle, you weren't a factor in the final quarter of Game 1 against Sacramento, and just a few moments ago, your team lost to the Monarchs again and are now out of the playoffs. What are you going to do next?

LISA LESLIE: I'm going to Disneyland, just down the street!

:)

Here's a couple of pictures from the press conference at Arco after Game 1. Notice the difference in attire and faces?

By the way, what's with Jellybean shutting off his mike? Did everyone hear how he was chastising the ref before he turned it off?

So anyone have a preference as to who we will play in the finals? I personally think Detroit has more talent than Connecticut, and they're pretty much injury free. I'd rather have Sacramento play Detroit though, since there will be less drama than having a rematch of last year, and If we beat Connecticut there will inevitably be the excuse that Douglas is hurt and it didn't really count. Just like Whalen last year, which the media still won't stop talking about.

Don't care AT ALL...not a bit.

Tremendous series close out game. Again, major props to the fans who made the trip to Anaheim, that was an impressive group. Major props to everybody here, there and everywhere who brought the mojo!

One more series to go.......

Monarchs Playoffs 2006 "We Run This!!"
East don't want it, 'cause Monarchs Run it

I couldn't believe they talked about that. Last year, this year, whoever talks about it, NO ONE ever mentions DeMya and Ticha both being hurt last year! It really makes me mad!

Looks like it may be Detroit. Connecticut is getting destroyed in their own house with just one quarter left.

edit - Geez, Detroit is putting on a CLINIC. The only one playing reasonably well for CT is McWilliams Franklin. Whalen has 7 TOs and no assists. CT has attempted 22 3s and only made 5. They obviously don't like it when teams get physical with them.

This matchup is a lot scarier than last years, but we know the Monarchs don't mind if it gets physical at least.

All the Sun fans on the espn boards are complaining because Detroit got all the calls from the refs and the refs are favoring the Shock and that Laimbeer was complaining and calling out the refs in this series to get the refs in there favor and how the Shock were playing dirty physical basketball ala Bill Laimbeer.

Detroit was whistled more during the game, so you can't blame it on them. CT couldn't defend anything in the paint and were too afraid to take it inside. CT is clearly just a regular season team and can't handle injuries or the pressure.

I don't think they played dirty tonight...tough yes. As for Bill working the Refs, thats what he does and well, I might add. He is like having 6 players out there, never shuts up. The Shock drew alot of offensive fouls, lots of flops.
They look ready & hungry...So are we. To quote ''Yo'' one more time...

'' A DOG FIGHT''
There will be a 2 time champ after this series & we know it's ours for the taking!
We Run This 06 MONARCHS!
