Yes, Evans has some glaring weaknesses in his game. He's also 26 (27 in November) so there is not much hope that he will make huge gains at this point.
But here's the thing: EVERY Kings player has glaring weaknesses in their game. The reason I like Mo on this team is that the TEAM's biggest weaknesses (defense, rebounding, athleticism) also happen to be among his greatest strengths.
Assuming he comes fairly cheaply, I don't see how anyone could be against the Kings bringing back Evans, unless they really believe that both Martin AND Garcia will be studs and need all the PT they can get. I would love for that to be the case, but I don't see it.
Besides, if Garcia and Martin do turn out to be that good, they would relegate Evans to an undersized backup to Peja. That would be a nice luxury to have.
