TRADE ACCEPTED

My first plan, Minny would probably then be able to Ship out Cassell in getting Bobby, who they regret letting go in the first place. I still don't see the Kings moving Peja now, but this one would clearly be a no-brainer. I bed Minny would see Peja and Wally as redundant, but at least Hassell wouldn't shut down Peja anymore.

Due to Minnesota and Sacramento being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and Sacramento had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

guys, I sincerely sincerely doubt they'd accept Peja and Brad. Peja and Thomas ain't cutting it. :)

But if they do, then I'm to be referred to forever after as "Your Trade Highness"...

Come on people. We don't want Kevin Garnett. It's not even the Kings anymore if they make that trade. And seeing the way the TWolves are sucking it up this year, I have my reservations about trusting KG with our team anyway. Sure he's a god for fantasy sports teams, but he's demonstrated little ability to win when it counts. And this after we just came to grips with the fact that Webber's 20-10-5 were maybe not the best for our team. For shame. :p

If you wouldn't want KG on your team...not even sure what to say about that. Team him wiht Bibby and you'd have a serious shot.

Um, yes. We do want Kevin Garnett. Honest. And I'd even drive all the way out to Minnesota to help him pack.

It would be the same team, BTW. I'm pretty sure the uniforms would still say Sacramento Kings.

GO KINGS!!!

i wouldnt want kg... only because i want to see him finish his career as a twolve..... years from now of course, but i dont want to see him playing for any other team..... same with duncan and maybe yao.... but yao really isnt worth much, no killer instinct.....

we should trade thomas and corliss for boozer and eisley.... now thats a trade....

My point is, part of the joy of watching the Kings is seeing them win as a team. I don't want to see some superstar destroying the competition, I want to see a team of good players passing the ball around making those superstars the media loves so much look like fools. I've seen it in the past and everytime I turn on a game I hope to see it again. A championship isn't everything. Having a team of good guys that understand that sports should be about teamwork not individual achievment means more to me. You can see that 82 games a year which adds up to a lot more good basketball than a few games in April and May. So no, I don't want KG on the team and it would seriously make it harder for me to root for the Kings if they had a guy like KG on the team.

I have a couple of real problems with your comments.

First, you don't know how Kevin Garnett would fit into our system. People were deathly afraid of letting Webber come here and he seemed to do pretty well.

Second, if having a legitimate shot at the title with Kevin Garnett would make it harder for you to root for the Kings, I suspect you're just being a tad dramatic.

I've had problems with what I've heard about Kevin Garnett in the past, but I can't say with any certainty how he'd play on our team. The old Kings are dead. Long live the Kings! And if Geoff Petrie can get us a legitmate superstar of the ilk of Kevin Garnett, I'm not about to protest.

KG likes to pass, he probably would fit pretty well.

The regular season means more to me than the championship because, as I said before, 82 games of good basketball brings me a lot more joy for a lot longer than a few weeks of good playoff basketball does. Yeah it hurts when the season comes to an end, but that fades pretty quickly. And then I've got the A's too.

And as a Sacramento fan, I've grown to relish the underdog role. Stewing in quiet confidence while the Kobe Bryant's and Shaquille O'Neal's of the world jaw off. Yeah they got the last laugh three years in a row, but I'm infinitly prouder to support the Kings and lose with them than to support a bunch of egos that win.

The name on the jersey is just a name. I may have lived in Sacramento, but that doesn't mean I'm bound to root for them whoever wears the jersey. They've got to earn my support as far as I'm concerned. But anyway, it's not like I'm putting a lot of thought into this. Everyone wants to be the underdog, it's an appealing role. But then winning is pretty fun too. Therein lies the rub.

I'm not willing to think about any trade that involves Mike Bibby.

Ditto.

After Doug and Chris, even joking about saying goodbye to Mike is painful.

Besides, as several have mentioned, I think that he and Brad are probably the two we can count on keeping for a while.

And I, on the other hand, have to wonder if one of the reasons Petrie was willing to get rid of Webber was precisely because he thought he might be able to get KG to replace him???

Bibby, Cat or whomever, Peja or whomever, KG and Brad...

wow.

That whomever is a monster.

And very versatile.

ahhh i jsut love how this thread about mo turned into trade packages for KG LMAO!

i'm actually changing my pipe dream to peja brad and cat for manu and duncan. gotta keep the ice man. throw in a few draft picks, whatever. duncan for the D, manu for the flash. and NO i'm not a spurs fan! but i am fans of manu and TD.

I think hrdboild makes a great point. That is how I have felt for the last few years. Don't bring in that superstar player (or coach), I want to see this team win it.

Those feelings are a lot less strong now that Divac, Christie and Webber are gone, so I certainly wouldn't be upset if a player like Garnett ended up here. However, I'm not going to spend time hoping, wishing, or dreaming about it.

You will never get Carlos Boozer for Kenny Thomas and Corliss. That's a bigger pipedream than KG for Peja and Kenny Thomas. I do think its a viable possibility that the Wolves would bite on Peja and Brad for KG though. Especially given an ex Bird team mate is their GM and he's landing two guys who just seem to fit into that old Celtic type playing style.

Additionally, anyone who thinks KG wouldn' be good for our team or fit into our system in CRAZY. The guy is a perfect high post guy to initiate the offense around.

how about forget all this and lets hope we win this YEAR's CHampionship damnit, and by the way, the season is not even over yet
