Ah yes, but if you notice I was limiting my pipedream to at least theoretically disgruntled teams/players. :)

i wouldnt trade peja, brad and mo for dunc and manu cause then we lose our main center who performs to his best every game

I cant believe you guys are so willing to just give up our core players.

I love watching these guys play. Win or lose, they are still the face of the Sacramento Kings

It's a message board. That's what people do. ;)

I don't think Geoff Petrie is hiding here under an assumed name, posting future trades for us ahead of time.

:D

Boring or not...Duncan can win you the ring...KG have not yet prove it. ;)

Well, if you want to nit-pick you could argue that simply because Tim Duncan has been on a winning team, that does not mean he could win the ring on another team. (I'm sorry, but whenever someone brings up the "he's won rings" comment I have to think of Mark Madsen...)

:p

With the right surrounding players, there is no doubt in my mind that Garnett could, indeed, win a ring. Of course, with the right surrounding players, Bozo the One-Legged Monkey could win a ring, too.

:D

I think one of the reason Spurs is a good team is because of Duncan. We all know that if Duncan goes down, Spurs' shot of winning it all is much tougher. Duncan to me, is the most dominated player today behind Shaq. Whatever team Duncan is in, they always have a great shot of winning the title.

KG's a great player but I just like Duncan more if you want talk about winning the Champion. :D

Yes, but talking about trading for Tim Duncan is kind of pointless because if God came down and manifested himself tommorow as a basketball player, the Spurs still wouldn't trade Duncan for him without getting at least a few first rounders thrown in anyway.

I would say the odds of Minnesota trading Garnett are quite low, but they at least are a franchise with some real decisions to make in the offseason, and he's a player who has to decide what he wants. Tim Duncan on the other hand is just about the least accessible player in the NBA (LeBron and Wade too), and Manu is probably not too far behind.

To Bricklayer's post: I agree with what you said. ;) I don't see Spurs ever trading Duncan too and see KG more likely tradeable. I only mention about it cause Fillmoe was talking about it.

I'm bored..so I'm just going to dig in here for these fun trade talks. :D

Not I...Not for Pedja and Bibby. Imagine Duncan WITH BIBBY AND PEDJA!! Double team Duncan...Pedja shoots a 3...Double team Pedja, Duncan dunks the ball...and top if off with a buzzer beater Bibby! Pedja, one of the best shooters in the NBA...Bibby, IMO...a better PG than Parker. That a chamiponship team right there! (I know, I'm dreaming. I did say I was bored. ;))

It is going to be a very long off-season...

Very long...

Incredibly long...

Long, long, long...

KG isn't going anywhere either. With the two-headed cancer of Sprewell and Cassell gone(One through free agency and the other by trade), the TWolves will be free to try constructing a new team around Garnett again. He is one of a half dozen players in the league worth emptying your entire roster to build a team around(The others being Duncan, Wade, Lebron, Kobe, and Nowitski).

This crazy trade thread is fun, and Petrie is a magician, but there is no way he pulls in one of the players from that group.

I hope the off-season isn't too long...I do hope to see our Kings still playing in June! :p ;)

Just to play devil's advocate, the common opinion was there was no way Petrie could move Webber's contract either...

Don't ever say "no way" and Petrie in the same sentence.

;)

But will KG tire of yet another failure from the management? He's so competitive, and I'm sure he places a lot of the challenge on his own shoulders. But he did crack this year on TV in an interview, so it's entirely possible that he could ask out this season should the Wolves miss the playoffs like they apprear to be heading toward.

As an aside, I highly doubt that if GP ever though he would have been able to snag KG that he would have gotten rid of Webber.

And I, on the other hand, have to wonder if one of the reasons Petrie was willing to get rid of Webber was precisely because he thought he might be able to get KG to replace him???

Bibby, Cat or whomever, Peja or whomever, KG and Brad...

wow.

I love that lineup too!!

Well, with that lineup who are you trading for KG? With Webb, even trading Peja or Bobby and Brad for KG ins't so bad because a KG and Webb frontcourt would be unstoppable.

It's gonna be an interesting summer ;)

I highly doubt the Kings could get Kevin Garnett without giving up at least one of our main guys (Mike Bibby, Peja Stojakovic, and Brad Miller). I'd give up Cuttino Mobley, Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson, and Greg Ostertag for Kevin Garnett, but would the salaries match? Even if they did, would the T-Wolves pull the trigger? Just to sweeten the pot, I wouldn't mind giving up Eddie House. If not House, then maybe Bobby Jackson?

PG - Mike Bibby/Bobby Jackson or Eddie House
SG - Mo Evans/Kevin Martin
SF - Peja Stojakovic
PF - Kevin Garnett/Darius Songaila
C - Brad Miller/Brain Skinner

Looking at that, our starting lineup looks insane, but we completely lose out on the bench. The Kings would need to somehow fillin with shooting guard spot with a better backup and we'd need a good small forward to backup Peja. Not to mention that we know the Kings always hurt to injuries. If one guy were to go out, the Kings whole team could fall apart.

I'd give Peja, Cat, Thomas and whatever else it took. I'd keep Brad, Mike, Brian and Kevin...and I'd try to keep Bobby and get Matt Barnes back.

Hmmmmm. I'll be right back. I have to go to realGM for a bit.

;)
