Even when he was in the NBA he was frequently left out of the video games because he had his own licensing deals. So getting him into a game with other playable legends is kind of a big enough deal to give him the cover.

Unless they assemble classic rosters in their entirety I don't really care too much about the ability to play as the legends though.

MJ is arguably the most popular player to ever play the sport, why wouldn't 2k11 jump at the chance of having him as a player in their game? Players would flock to that so they could relive MJ's situations, leaving NBA Live in the dust.
