Miller on Team USA

Maybe it's just wishfull thinking, but I think that having him part of team USA could benefit us greatly making him more in shape when the season starts then in the past couple of years.

He'll be in better shape when the season starts, but it could also leave me more warn down the stretch and more pron to injury down teh stretch, if we dont' have a decent back up and he has to play big minutes.

If he is on the team, I doubt he well be a workhorse for them so I'm not too worried about a breakdown. I think if nothing else it will help him to be around some of the other guys on the team.

He won't have to play against Chris Kaman, Jerome James or Nazr Mohammed so it might boost his confidence. That's the main thing he needs, confidence will make him more aggressive and get him to just play through his mistakes instead of mentally withdrawing from the game.

Where did you find your fourleaf clover?

Miller might be getting a lot of playing time since he is the only 7 footer on the team.
And he is the only C on the team that suits international basketball to perfection. If USA is serious about winning the gold then players like Miller, Bosh and Redd would play major minutes.

On NBATV today they showed footage from some of the practices and Brad looks to have added some poundage. Not really fat though. More size to him.

Don't you know it is no longer cool to be complementory about Brad? Current trend is to bash him and deney he is a center, has any value and pretty well ought to be traded for picks.... Jeez you need to stay current on who is who in the pecking order (Hint next off season if the Kings don't win at least the WCF expect Bibby must go threads).

Suiting the interantional game is not exactly a compliment...unless you are going to play international ball of course. It implies that you are exactly what Brad is: a soft shooter who plays like a guard. He was a good pick for the national team for just that reason, and if the national team does NOT take him, it will be a sign to me that they still haven't figured it out. But its an entirely separate question of whether he has any real use to a serious contender in the NBA.

lol...good one, but I think he did deserve a most of the scorn that he got here after the pathetic playoffs performance. And it was not just that he didn't play well. It was because the effort wasn't there.
But if he does make a concious effort to improve in the offseason and show come back in shape, no one would be more happier than the Kings fans here.

Lucky for me I have never really gone with the trend ;)

I find those people that like to got stuck into Webber, Vlade, Brad, Pedja, Christie, Bobby to be rather petty and its more a reflexion on them as supporters than on the metioned players. I am just grateful to them for turning the Kings into a respected organization. If others want to bag them, then that reflects more on their fickleness than on anything else.

As for Bibby, we can see that one from miles away. Next in line to be designated scapegoat ;)

Actually its probably the compliement because it implies that he is fundamentaly sound player. Can't say that for a majority of players going around in the NBA these days.

I am a bit of an old schooler where I have great respect for players who are funadmentaly sound.

He is a 7ft. center and has no post game, weak rebounder/defender. That is not fundamentally sound.

He can be a good role-player in the right situation.

Team USA Brad

Is it just me, or is Brad looking bigger?

That last photo is, well, almost disturbing.

But he doesn't look much bigger to me, for what it's worth.

I feel he's not necessarily looking broader, just a bit more toned. It could be just wishful thinking on my part though.

We can only hope for the best. At least there's a good chance that he will be in better shape for the upcoming season and being around the best on the USA team cannot hurt.

Come on Brad you are a 7 footer, please act like it...at least a little bit. ;)

a bit off topic, but does anybody know how the players picked their numbers? the only reason i can see different numbers on the players is the ego that comes along with certain numbers (3, 23, etc...)

Alphabetically, for now. They start from 20 and move up consecutively.
