Miller Injury

NBA notebook - couldn't find it posted elsewhere on the board - sorry if I missed it:

Just when Brad Miller was showing he can still be a dominant center, he may miss a few games with a finger injury. The Sacramento Bee reports Miller, who has enjoyed a strong bounce-back season after last year's dreadful campaign, cut his finger while doing dishes and needed nine stitches in his right index finger. If Miller is out look for Mikki Moore to start at center and for John Salmons, Francisco Garcia, and possibly Spencer Hawes to see bigger roles.

I am not doubting Miller has an injury... but what a coincidence... all-star break coming up... and let me guess he will be out through the break.

I heard this too on local news a few days back on local news 10. According to the report I heard word of mouth from one of the trainers or something talking to the reporter, they said something to the effect of "he might miss one game or two"

I don't think the title is accurate since I thought Miller had another "injury" more severe than the cut when I read the title of the thread.

According to a sacramento bee article
"(Miller) said he is optimistic about playing Wednesday"

I bet Miller is playing Wednesday and if not, definitely playing on Friday against the Jazz. As for others playing a role, not going to happen unless another center accidentally steps on his finger

I've had deep cuts to the meat myself and as much of a wussy injury a "cut" may seem...seeing how he cut himself doing the dishes (ceramics most likely), it would be extremely painful for him to play. A game or two and with some crazy bandages that they have, he will be ready.

9 stitches means it's probably spanning from one side of his knuckle to the other. Bending the finger would hurt like hell, but other than that he can probably play. But since it's his right finger he should probably sit out for a few games, because it would be hard for him to shoot the ball with one finger straight.

Any chance, any chance at all, that that's not how he cut his finger. Why can't i see Brad washing dishes. I mean i'm sure it happens. But i do wonder...

Well to all the people that want to see Hawes get a chance to now! Earlier this season we said Hawes was one injury away from getting major playing time. Here it is. It will be nice to see him play a few games for more than 8 minutes per.

My guess would be taking care of their baby girl.
Exactly!:D This isnt 1950 anymore for God's sake.:D Just my two wooden nickels on this thing, I think it's just another weird injury in a long line of weird and unweird injuries to plague our team over the last 23 years. Tis' all part of playing for the Kings, expect the unexpected! LOL

.... and maybe expect that you haven't heard the full story.

didnt he trip over his cat and hit the sofa? lol that was funny

That was Jake Plummer then quarterback of the Denver Broncos that tripped over his cat and was injured.

Most ppl say that those bizarre injurys are lies because they really got injured doing something that went against their contract.

Interesting contract clause i remember. Ryan Kelsko then of the Atlanta Braves had in his contract he was not to go on drug bust with the DEA.

Turns out he was suited up in Miami and was part of a raid on a drug house by the DEA back in the early 90's and then it was put in his next contract he couldn't play DEA agent in the offseason.

Would love to see Theus just give Hawes and JW the center spot for this game and tell them to handle it. I'm sure we'll see the small lineup more but this is an opportunity to see the young guys get some quality time.
