Who is the best point guard you have played against?

I’ve played against a lot. John Stockton was probably the best one.

When did you start playing basketball?

When I was a baby, my dad played professionally. So, ever since I can remember, I had a ball in my hand, whether it was Styrofoam or whatever with a little hoop.

Who’s your favorite player on the Kings?

I like everybody. Me and Francisco Garcia are probably the closest out of everyone on the team. I had a lot of years in the NBA when he came into the league. Older guys take rookies under their wings and I kind of taught him the ropes. We go out and eat and stuff, too.

How did you get to be so good at basketball?

I did it by practicing a lot. I wanted to be the best. I knew when I wasn’t practicing, other people were. So, I’d make sure when I came to play I was ready. I had to practice to be the best and with that, I came out on top.

What’s your favorite part about basketball?

Just the competition. I’m a competitor, so I like to compete.

How does it feel when you hit game winners?

It feels good. Either you’re going to miss it or make it. I’ve never seen anybody go through life without missing a basket! So, you have to shoot it like you’re going to make it.

Do you have many friends that are point guards?

I try to make friends throughout the whole NBA. It’s a little like college, where everybody is doing the same thing. We’re trying to achieve the same goals, no matter what team you’re on, so everybody is usually friendly with everybody.

What do you do when you’re not playing basketball?

I have three kids! When I’m not playing basketball, I’m usually hanging out with them and playing video games.

Are you friends with Dwayne Wade?

I know him, but I’m not really friends with him though.

What kind of video games do you like?

Sports games. I can play everything though. I play Tetras, football, basketball, boxing, baseball.

Who is the main team you guys want to beat?

The rivalry for us is the Lakers.

What other sports do you like to play other than basketball?

When I was younger I played baseball and football growing up. Baseball is kind of slow. I landed on my neck one time when I was playing football! Then I stuck with basketball.

Who is your favorite football team?

My cousin plays for the Lions right now, so I’m going to have to with the Lions.

Who’s your favorite player in the NBA?

I like the way a lot of other players play. Mostly, I like to watch Kevin Garnett, because of his intensity.

Do you and the Kings dislike Robert Horry?

It sucks that he made that shot. But that’s the way life is. You can’t do anything to fix it. It happened and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Do you miss playing with Vlade and B-Jax?

Yeah, they are good guys. When we had that team, the camaraderie was great! When I first came here, they were already good. So, when I came here they made me feel like I had been on the team for my whole career. It made it easier for me and I had so much fun with them.

What do you think about the draft pick you guys got this year?

He’s good. I haven’t really seen him play yet, but he’s a big guy. He’s a big body and that’s always good.

Okay, for clarification purposes...

The link above is to an ongoing blog site, which currently features an article about KEVIN as it's latest entry and an entry from Tuesday about Mike Bibby. It appears to have direct connections to kings.com so people might want to bookmark it.

Mike seems like a pretty cool dude. At this point I'd be fine if we kept him. I wish I could've gone to his camp haha, it looks fun.

As we all know Mike had probably his worst season in the NBA last season. He makes a whole lot of $ which I don't like so much, but can be a very good PG for us, he is a real competitor that never lets down, even when he is hurt and should be resting. I give Mike a lot of credit for that, he's like Brett Favre to me as far as playing through pain and loving the game!

The problem is his Defense is so terrible and with the crop of very quick and skilled PGs like Chris Paul, Derron Williams, etc he is making his way down the list of PGs in the NBA today. That said, I hope he turns around going forward and plays like Mike can play, not just in chucking up shots, but also in facilitating the offense with his moves and passing to his teamates.

GO KINGS

yeah i remember when we did this, it was really cool, mikes a pretty cool guy. when we asked he also said his favorite team to play is the lakers and his least favorite is the spurss because they are so organized defensively and stuff.

I think it should be made an amendment to the California Constitution myself.

:p

hahaha! well a rivalry is always fun to have, but we had more then a rivalry, i've heard stories of fans in arco throwing bells, beer at the lakers at games and L.A fans would try to do the same because of what they heard in the media wow this rivalry stuff is pretty fun:D i live here close to L.A. and every time i wear my kings jersey, i still get a occasional queens here and there, but i' am a big dude so i just give them the stare and the fakers speech, but when i attended a kings/lakers game in L.a there were quiet a few kings fans to my surprise, maybe everyone is tired of kobe eh you never know?

Sorry, but no - the Kings fans have not thrown bells or beers at the Lakers. An isolated incident or two, perhaps (although I've never heard of one) but, for the most part, the harassment has been limited to verbal jabs.

Of course, there was that alleged cheeseburger poisoning but no one (at least no one in Sacramento) believes Kobe.

Arco still rocks every time the Lakers come to town. Regardless of what you may read, it's still BEAT LA! (And, of course, my "DIE LAKER SCUM!")

:)

yeah, mike is cool, when iwas playing in the games i looked over and he was in a game with what must have been 6-7 year olds, passing the ball and letting the other team take the ball every once in a while.

yeap...I have went to Kings v Lakers out here in Staples many times and there are always a lot of Kings fans in the arena. Not to mention the ones that arent wearing jerseys as well.

Erm, no?

I mean no offense whatsoever, but how long have you been a Kings fan? I would think Laker hatred would be one of the first things you'd learn.

;)

been a fan since 2000 yeah i know kings hate the lakers and i know thats one of the first things you learn and i was aware of it, some of my buddies are laker fans and during playoff series, we would get into heated arguments, some of my buds would get so mad they wouldn't talk to me for weeks, lol! man i remember one time at espn zone , a laker fan wanted to get into a fist fight with me over a game this guy had the lakers logo tattoed on his forearm, he re thought the situation and decided he was just drunk, but anyways VF21 i think lakers/kings rivalry isn't what it used to be kobe and mike are the only 2 players left from the rivalry, o' and d fish now that he's back, to me the rivalry was alive and well when both teams was top contenders, so i know what you're talking about believe you me, i am a laker hater too

The players may be different, but the names on the front of the jerseys are still the same. The rivalry is still there - it's just sleeping for a bit.

Of course, it might be a little different for you if you live in Southern California. I certainly don't envy you being a Kings fan in Laker country but I admire your tenacity.

You're an ideal Kings fan. You're here in the middle of TDOS, talking about the team. That pretty much shows you care.

Ever get to a game at Arco?

no:( i was going to go for my 21st b day which was this year for the rockets game but my girlfriend had a surprise b-day party for me, don't get me wrong she loves the kings too, she bought me the purple and gold jersey and i was forced to wear it:p im hoping to go this year, hopefully when my vacation time comes, i have family in bakersfield and my gf has family in sacramento, i have my jwill jerseys along with the cwebb jerseys which i hang up now, arco seems like so much fun watching games on tv give me chills when kings are on full throttle mode, four things i love my gf soon to be wife on the way baby, family, and the kings, life can't get no better!

Well, I think it may have worked out for the best. I'm willing to bet this year's team will be a lot more fun to watch than the year of Musselman.

Congrats on the family-to-be, BTW.

:)
