Section 101
All-Star
Thought this was interesting. I know a few don't like David Thorpe, but he has McLemore as one of his 3 early ROY canditates with Oladipo and Zeller.
After a horrible start in Vegas, McLemore put together two strong performances in the Kings' last three games. He impressed with his willingness to race the floor, and by his last game he was sprinting to the rim and soaring above it.
Entering the regular season, he'll want to be sure not to repeat what Al-Farouq Aminu did as a rookie a few years ago -- namely just shoot a bunch of 3s. In four of McLemore's summer games combined, he made just 4 of 30 shots from behind the line. His shot looks like it will be a strength for him during his career, but it needs to complement his game as a young player, not define it.
If he plays with energy and athleticism all the time, he's going to be a good rookie. And then if he adds efficient perimeter shooting, he can be the best player in his class this year.
