McLemore early ROY Candidate?

Section 101

All-Star
Thought this was interesting. I know a few don't like David Thorpe, but he has McLemore as one of his 3 early ROY canditates with Oladipo and Zeller.

After a horrible start in Vegas, McLemore put together two strong performances in the Kings' last three games. He impressed with his willingness to race the floor, and by his last game he was sprinting to the rim and soaring above it.

Entering the regular season, he'll want to be sure not to repeat what Al-Farouq Aminu did as a rookie a few years ago -- namely just shoot a bunch of 3s. In four of McLemore's summer games combined, he made just 4 of 30 shots from behind the line. His shot looks like it will be a strength for him during his career, but it needs to complement his game as a young player, not define it.
If he plays with energy and athleticism all the time, he's going to be a good rookie. And then if he adds efficient perimeter shooting, he can be the best player in his class this year.

Haha.

And yes, David Thorpe is flat out dishonest.

The best thing that can said for a mention like this is just if the class is as weak as expected, you might be able to win it averaging 12ppg. Far more likely given that its Thorpe is either he predicted Mac would win it before the draft, or he worked with him in a camp, or just whatever would cause him to play favorites per usual.

And in a related story there are only 150 more shopping days until Christmas. Shall we also talk about which new TV series is the best in the new fall line up?????

Nope, he hasn't worked with him and I believe this is his first rookie report.

I don't know whether Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to be any good, but I know that ABC has a ton of faith in it, because it's making its debut head-to-head against NCIS. Going straight at the biggest dog in the yard takes some onions.

I don't think he's going to start, and he in particular has some refining to do. Don't see him in the mix, although would be pleasantly surprised to see otherwise

I'm not sure Americans are in love with "Agent Coulson" enough for him to have a spin-off show on his own. It's sad but this fall is filled with predictable and/or spin-offs, just like its Hollywood movie counterpart.

While I LOVE Joss Wheadon's work out side of Buffy he has hard time keeping a show on the air... I still miss Firefly!

Well, I hardly consider myself the American Spokesman, but I don't know anyone who doesn't love Agent Coulson.

Set your DVR to record the Science channel starting Sunday morning early. They're having a Firefly marathon. And they're also going to do the same for The Doll House starting tonight or tomorrow morning. :)

At the risk of speaking heresy, with a show that opens strong, sometimes the kindest thing a network can do is kill it before it turns into a parody of itself. Fox killing Firefly may have been the best thing that could have happened to it from a creative point of view.

But back on topic, out of the rookies drafted, maybe 5 break a starting lineup and of those only 2 will get any significant minutes. In all seriousness, McCallum could win it if coach Malone decides he needs some defense out of his point guard.

Oh no I agree with you. I'm just questioning if the love for him can sustain more than a season. They aren't gonna have any of the Avengers superheroes in the show so it's really gonna bank on Agent Coulson.

With all due respect to you and the OP, it's impossible to take a topic like this seriously in July.

Please split or move this to the lounge. I'm surprised the moderators are taking part in mocking the OP.

If you don't want to take part in some light-hearted fun, feel free to skip to the next thread. It's TDOS. No one has mocked the OP.

lets be honest, no television show competes with Dexter.

I felt that way for a while. Nothing was even close, until I got into Breaking Bad.

But yeah, nothing competes with those two, and I give the edge to Dexter, only becayse they have similar themes, and it came first.

I'm with TSA. Can I assume that threads will not be ended prematurely, subjects meticulously split to suit a mod's whims, etc. just because a few people don't take the subject matter seriously and it is TDOS? I have read "don't read it" if a thread is boring. Maybe those in power should do that very same thing. I suspect one thread could survive without moderation.

The Wire? Game of Thrones? Six Feet Under? Boardwalk Empire? not saying those are all better than the two shows you've mentioned, but they're all very clearly in the same league.

I dunno Glenn. This board has always had its moments of quirky levity during TDOS. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it. As much as we complain about repetitive and circuitous arguments, this is a pleasant change. It's like someone spiked mom's peach lemonade.

Think Zeller or Alex Len(If Gortat is indeed traded) are in the best situation.

My money is on Zeller.

Maybe even Michael Carter Williams, assuming the trend of ignoring TO's, FG% and general efficiency etc continues and only raw pts/assists/rebs/steals count.
