He certainly did not look undersized out there.

Bagley was pretty much what could be expected. High energy, finishing around the rim well, couple of good blocks and some bad defensive awareness. His three at the beginning got me intrigued and his free throws looked good.
Also as expected he seems to be playing center on offense. Most of the time he was either posting up or at the dunker spot while Giles was either behind the 3 point line or in high post. Hopefully that Giles' jumper is for real. If we run pick n roll with Bagley as a screen setter it be benefitial to have the whole floor spaced and that means in those occasions Giles should be spotting up for 3.
I hope we dont see him playing much or at all with KK or Willy. That spacing will be very bad very quickly. Guy like Bjelica could complement him offensively. Also as a center he can use his quickness better aginst slower defenders since he doesnt seem to be (yet) a guy that just backs his guy down using strength.

Love what I saw in game one, but man oh man he has no right hand at all. I always knew he was really left hand dominant, but seeing it in person is just so strange.
The guy plays up in the stratosphere. The Kings have not had a player that far above the rim for a long time, maybe never.

He looked really impressive while at the same showing that he had a lot to learn. I think it was a great start for him.
His defensive awareness is really the only negative thing i noticed at the game. Albeit he is learning a new defense so his rotations where slow. Once he gets acclimated to the scheme i'm confident his natural instincts for the game will kick in and he will be reacting much quicker as his career progresses.
Kings assistant coach Marsh was on the radio this morning and said Bagley only got one practice in with the guys because he had to go through the contract signing process and all that. He might look better in Vegas if they get a practice or two in before then.
Honestly I'd rather see him be able to cover centers more than switch out on the perimeter. I think Giles will be better at switching in time so if Bagley can wind up defending down low, it may be better for the team in the long haul because both players will be able to play to their strengths and Bagley's weakness can be masked a little bit. Guess it all depends on if he can keep this type of rim protection up.
100% am in agreement with you. They complement each other extremely well. My favorite part of the game was when Bagley was late to close out on Wagner in the corner so he had to run him off the line and and as Mo drove Harry saw him and hedged, allowing Bagley to hustle back for a rim protecting block. That's the kind of effort any Kings fan should be giddily anticipating.

Big thing for me as well was his frame. Considering Giles did not look he’s got the type to fill out, more of a Durant/Garnett/Duncan/Bosh body type, Bagleys body looks like he can put on a bunch of mass in a few years. That’ll help him keep guys away from basket, and will absolutely help his post-moves

Well after a bit of early nerves I was sitting there thinking if we made a mistake or not. Then came the baptism, followed by a 3. I've seen enough to be excited.

I think the vision eventually is for them to be able to do both. Teams that run small won’t be able to run them off the floor and they’ll be able to punish those teams on the offensive end for staying small. Obviously that’s not going to happen overnight but I feel like this may be the vision Vlade was going for since most teams try to attack any full sized big that’s on the floor.
His lack of right hand apparently is a bigger problem than I thought. He seems to refuse to do anything with his right hand. Jordan Bell and Jones are Nba level defenders and since they took away the left and didnt allow easy buckets, Bagley was in trouble. Hopefully he can fix that somehow.

Don’t worry...he’ll get there. I personally think the biggest problem is that he is 2 weeks removed from the draft, participated in one practice, excitement of signing his contract (“yay, I’m 19 years old and now have a boatload of money”....I suspect a little overwhelming), back to back games with game one being probably the most exciting atmosphere/adrenaline enducing summer league game the NBA has ever seen (not kidding...)
He obviously needs to work on his right hand, but let’s not get too worried at this this point. Remember Monday night and KEEP THE FAITH!

He'll be fine that game devolved into a scrimmage early on and never recovered. As his outside shot improves he'll have a much easier time.
I like that they have him grabbing dboards and pushing it up court himself.

There are players that are one hand dominant in the league and despite defenses knowing to take it away, they still use that hand and/or go in that direction, Bagley will be fine. I don't believe he needs to develop a right hand shot from the bat, he needs to get a feel from the league and see what he can do in a organized setting, something that isn't summer league or preseason and then from there just grow every year and add to your game.

There are a lot of good NBA players that are right hand dominant and can't finish with their left hand, but most people don't bring that up because it is so common.
I think Bagley can develop the his right hand in time.
But, I think being a lefty would be more difficult for most defenders to defend, because the majority of player are used to defending against right hand dominant players.

Al Jefferson for sure. there's plenty of right handed guards who are extremely right-hand dominant too, one might say Iman Shumpert qualifies...
That’s the best you got? Al Jefferson can score because he is 290 lbs.

Why can’t you just be happy we got the guy? He is 19, nowhere near a finished product. You act like all the top prospects were chomping at the bit to come here. MBIII was ecstatic to come to Sac.
He might be the most athletic player in Kings history. He is a student of the game and has limitless intangibles. Seems odd to dump on him so soon. I am stoked we got a kid who is the total package.

you do realize lefties are significantly more rare than righties right?... ?
Most basketball players who reach the NBA level have played a ton of basketball in their lives, and a vast majority of their time playing defense has been against right handed players. this is an obvious truth. So to have this conversation like its some equal weight on righties or lefties is counterfeit to begin with.
Furthermore players specialize in little things with their left and right hands, basketball is a game with a ton of actions in any minute and different players are comfortable doing different things, for example prime tony parker did a ton of his heavy lifting with his dominant right hand but would use his left in crafty spots and mostly to get back to his right.
I've seen Marvin do tons of finishes with his right too, mostly around the rim. You guys see him get stopped a few times going left and want him to go right, chill, you're not reinventing the wheel here.
