Martin for Josh Howard?

what if it was a trade like this?

martin
sergio

for

josh howard
rodrique beaubois?

I dont know what I feel about it, I dont like J-ho. we can cut him lose one season gain 18 mil capspace this offseason (martin + KT). and thats a lot to use on some player

He COULD be another expiring contract this year :) next to Kenny Thomas, just bench Howard let Omri and Greene get all the minutes. Now we have a LOAD of money to play with in the off-season, more than likely we will get another top 5 pick at this rate. Id'e do it if we're only going to win 20 games. In no way shape or form is Martin good for this team, he doesn't mesh with these other players.

In my previous statement in another post, I said I welcome the return of Martin too see if he can play with the team. He CAN'T!! I said 15 game either we go 10-5, 7-8, 8-7, or 5-10 nd you know what we are 0-5. Without Martin I believe we would have defeated Philly,Wash and Charlotte. That would put us at what 18-25??

TRADE! Martin is dead too me, I don't even attempt a shot with him in 2k10 online and I still win.

My 2k10 remark is 100 percent in accordance to me saying kevin martin is dead to me, in no way did I include him in the reason why he is bad for the team in the NBA. Read and comprehend

Yeah, let's ship off our most consistent player who is having his best season so far, along with Martin, for yet another swingman who is a black hole and neglect any improvement on the frontline.

You ARE implying that winning in 2K10 is somehow equivalent to winning in real life though. You "STILL win" without Martin taking a shot, is a remark that will be interpreted that if it happens there, it will translate over to reality. Or else, why would you make the comment? Because you're COMPARING.

That's fine, in real life we also did almost all of our winning this season without Martin taking a shot. ;)

This Howard thing though...that's the way Dallas would like it to go down, but it takes two to tango, and that makes no sense for us at all. Tehy would have to get a third team involved.

I want their 1st pick to go with it and then i would make it a done deal.

K-mart is such a big liablity on D and after this year Josh Howard has a team option. Lets make a splash this summer.

Yeah, it's pretty much a trade to move out players from a logjam, get Kevin out of town and free up more cap space.

Howard is washed up. Every several years the Mavs get tired of their sixth men (Van Exel, Jamison, Stackhouse, Howard etc) and they always try to inherit a new one. Not to mention that Howard appears unstable. So pass

Howard doesn't put us in contention for a playoff spot like ron artest did in 06, but KM23 doesn't either. I can't allow martin to go for another 3. Martin will have to be traded for a 1 or a 5. I also can't give up on martin so quickly, he is young and improving his game. This year doesn't mean much in terms of contending for a championship so someone with martin's ability and title(contract) can be allowed to shake off all the rust he wants or have himself an in-game practice until our games have real implications. I wouldn't shop martin, unless it gives us another 6-7% chance at the #1 overall.

This move for Kevin to get him as a bench scorer would be a sign his stock is already dropping. Wait a year and we may wish we could still get Josh Howard's contract for him.

At his peak, Howard was ordinary--the only things he did well were creating his own mid-range shot off the dribble and rebounding well, things that definitely don't make my eyes light up. His downfall was pretty much expected. Martin's value lies in his what I call combining mutually exclusive stats--off the top of my head only Pierce and Billups also do this--but the guy can get to the line at a high rate, and hit threes at a high rate. Sure he's reliant on speed and the free throws might dip some, but he's still only 26ish and may have a few more years playing at this level.
