Martin for Harris

Devin Harris needs a change of scenery. He plays point, can shoot and penetrate and was untouchable last year. Now there is talk of him to the Wiz for Caron Butler. Harris and Reke is a solid fit. Throw in another piece and take a contract back if needed because he is an upgrade over K-Mart for sure.

I do like Devin Harris...but why do you think this?

Kevin is avg better points, rebs, also better fg,3pt,ft percentages.

Harris is a good player but I’m not trading Kevin for him. It just doesn’t make sense and I think we could get better player for our team right now.

We already have a pg. His name is Tyreke Evans. There is no reason to trade Kevin for a pg. We trade him for a big. Thats is clearly this teams biggest concern, and Kevin is our most valuable asset. We need a big that is a difference maker. Our chances of acquiring one increase substantially if Kevin is included in the package.

All harris can really do is drive, and drive and kick. He's not a good fit with Evans, that trade doesn't help us.

hawes will play the 4 position which he seems a little more comfortable at

I think Harris with his ability to handle the ball would be better suited than Martin to play with Evans.. But he does tend to become a black hole as well..

I am all for giving it a try though if we cannot get a big man for martin.

While I'm in the school of thought that Devin Harris is in a one-season slump (and not a TJ Ford slide into oblivion), I don't think he'd be a good fit with Tyreke.

The curse/blessing of Tyreke is that he needs to be the primary ballhander in order to maximize his effectiveness. Devin Harris is in that same category. I think it's best, in terms of our backcourt combo, to have two guards who can play off each other and both run the point and score. Beno and Tyreke seem to do this pretty well (although I'm sure we can upgrade) - Steve Blake and Brandon Roy are another example. But conversely, the Trailblazers have tried desperately to upgrade their strength at the point (Jerryd Bayless, Andre Miller) and those results haven't yet provided a noticeable upgrade.

If the team is looking to upgrade it's backcourt, it needs to look for a combo guard or 2-guard with point skills to compliment Tyreke and play off of him or lead the point when need be. If the team keeps Tyreke at the point, they could use an upgrade in defense and passing at the 2, and definitely need that guard to be able to shoot the three, create, and play off the ball. If the team moves Tyreke to the 2, they should look for someone like Beno but with a better outside shot and better defense. Who those players are, and if there's anyone out there like that we can get, I have no clue. But that's what I'd look for in regards to upgrading our backcourt...

like ramon sessions? though his 3pt shooting isnt very good he is an upgrade with everything else. maybe jamal crawford... i dont really like that idea but it would work and it would also force the opposing teams to guard tyreke with their pg if crawford gets hot. jason terry is another player that would be cool to pair with tyreke... a sg in a pg body with a pg in a sg body.... it balances everything out
