Mark Cuban

Ok did anybody else see this? Last night as I was watching the game Dallas I believe had a turnover and in transition the Heat scored. Mr. Cuban stood up and did something really weird. With one hand on his hip and the other in the air I would have sworn he was doing a rendition of "I’m a little Teapot". This probably doesn’t deserve a thread but that was the funniest thing I have ever seen a team owner do.

Mark Cuban as a teapot? Had I known, I might actually have tuned in for that...

Well, not really. But it does evoke a funny mental image.

;)

I'v seen him do it before, not sure what it is about, all I can assume is he is trying RELLY hard to start a fad... you know like being the first 16 year old girl at your school to say "fetch"

Yes, I saw that as well. It was really funny. The teapot analogy is pretty close, although it brought "Jazzercise" to my mind. I was bummed that the game was not being brodcast on TNT. Charles & co. would have shown it at half time with someone else's head on him. :D

LOL ya I was like WT... no jokes here to get me in trouble, nice screenie EZ

I think he wanted a foul called and this was during the Heats mini run, they were gaining momentum.

Is cuban gaining weight? Retaining Water?.. HMMM look at his gut!

Before the game he was on the stationary bike and they asked him what he wanted to ask Shaq and he was talking about the Wiggles. I was like wtf? Even the commentators didn't get that one.

lol.I saw that and I was wonderin what he was doing...also,there he goes again with those tight little shirts...yea he's gained a few pounds and he obviously thinks he can fit his old clothes ;)

what is all the big fuss about cuban? he is but an artifact of the current nba organization. do you think it is coincidence that his team has become one of the top teams in the league? he is obnoxious, megalomaniac, an utter jerk and all of that, but he is at the same time a businessman and his financial/market instincts helped him see through the essence of the nba. he is doing a business and he will be on the winning side as long as the nba itself remains all about money.

Somewhat of a coincidence, yes. He was not responsible for Don Nelson, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Michael Finley, the guys who built the current success. He's added something -- direction, passion, and throw in his deep pockets and there's a definite plus there. But its hardly an "appear in the NBA Finals" plus.

Big money teams have not consistently done that well in the NBA. Just ask the Knicks. You have to do some solid basketball work to make it ahppen. Meanwhile a traditionally fiscally responsible small market team like the Spurs has been there year after year.

The key fuss with Cuban is not his money, or his shaky acumen, its his complete and utter obnoxiousness. The epitome of a "new money" braggart who shoves it in your face. He's like the Rodney Dangerfield character in Caddyshack. No class whatsoever. Disrespectful. And borderline cheating too as he tries to pressure refs when he is effectively one of their bosses.

well, i would say that having big money does not always equate to winning more money no matter what the domain is. cuban, in this particular case, is probably the best suited (i mean it in the figurative case; for the literal case: hell no) for the task at hand.

and you point to finley, nash and don nelson, but he, cuban, had the courage to part with them when he thought that he would be slightly better than mediocre as long as the core remained intact (sounds familiar?).

as for your observations about cuban, i completely agree. he is all that and then some. but that does not alter my conclusion: the nba is reaping what it sowed.

Well, Cuban has always worn shirts that don't quite cover completely. And now he's gained weight so it's all gut?? Ewwww.......
That's one of the grossest fashion faux-pas one can make.
