Dallas might try to unload Shawn Marion so they can have enough cap to try to get Howard and Williams.

They would want contracts that expire. We used to have a ton of those, but not any more. Hickson or Green would work because they could renounce their rights.

Marion is getting old, a bit pricy, and could be testy coming from the champs to here ... but Hickson for Marion probably gets it done.

I don't know if it's a good idea, but I'll toss it out there.

Yeah, I don't know if I love it. We'd get him not just for this year, but for his age-34 and age-35 seasons. When you're talking about a player who relies more on athleticism than skill, that's dangerous. And he's owed about $8.5M then $9M those two years. He'd be an upgrade, we'd be giving up nothing...except possibly cap space to use on other players. I'd much rather spend that kind of money on Wilson Chandler. And that kind of money would probably pry Wilson Chandler out of Denver. So I'm not enthusiastic about this idea, but I wouldn't complain overmuch.

Not sure about this. Have to think about it. He's a vet, very good defender, experienced, and would immediately improve our defense.

But, I don't like getting vets that only have a couple years left. At 30 you have a number of years left. At Marions age, he probably has 2-3, and I highly doubt he'd want to spend the final years of his career here.

Also, he's just such a crappy shooter I really don't like the idea of both he and Reke on the perimeter. We don't need a sf who looks for his shot, but we do need one who commands at least a little respect from the outside. That's why I like AK so much. Doesn't look for his shot, but is a good enough perimeter shooter that he keeps the defense honest.

I think I'd look elsewhere. The more I think about it, the more I want a Rondo/Reke backcourt.

We could just take him for nothing because we have the cap room to absorb his contract. He used to be one of my favorite players but he's not a real good shooter anymore. I'm not sure if I would or wouldn't, I might want a pick or something or for them to take back Garcia as well. He's a good player thoug.

greene, marion, honeycutt, outlaw, garcia and salmons! lol thats half the roster devoted to one position! 25+ million on ****ty players that play one position. i'd throw 10 mill per year at wilson chandler before we dump more money on these stupid band aid suggestions. marion is a vet but he has very little left before he retires.
