Look, I understand where your coming from. But just how does anything you just said matter? What does it accomplish? Did the Maloof's make mistakes in the process of trying to get a new arena? Yes! No relevation there. So did the city of sacramento. No relevation there. Now what did that just accomplish? Nothing. The past doesn't matter, other than to understand how we got where we are. But the past isn't going to solve the problem, if we don't learn from it.
Obviously when the last arena deal fell through, they decided they'd had enough. I'm sure their finances played a large part in that decison. Now you can blame them for being in the financial situation they're in, but after your done blaming them, the situation will be exactly the same. What we need is way to convince them, that its in their best interest to stay in sacramento. I'd like to convince them to sell the team to Burkle, but apparently thats out of the question. So whether we like it or not, they still own the team, and therefore, we still have to deal with them.
I'm sure your right about a lot of people's perception. But perception is seldom reality. I've met the Maloof's a few times, the last time at summer league. They've always been very nice and willing to talk to just about everybody. But I'm not about to say I really know them. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out my wife, and I live with her every day. All we know is superficial. I do know they seem to treat their employee's well. At least the one's that I've spoken to. Personally, I don't care if they're related to Gengis Khan, as long as we can convince them to give the city one more try. Now if we have to get them down on the ground and twist their arm behind their back, then I'm down with that. But I think it would be more beneficial if they came willingly. I don't think they're bad people. They've spent millions of dollars on charities in sacramento. Right now I think they're fighting for survival, and when that happens, it can get ugly.
