Yea, its pretty clear to me that the only way the Maloofs can afford to keep an NBA team is if they move to Anaheim. If they stay in Sac they will sell, or have to sell, so they are doing WHATEVER they can to move the team. Seems like their only option, or they wouldnt be doing all this.
This is going to be an interesting next three hours.

Why just three hours? You think we'll know something in a few hours?
Well, considering their declaration that they'd have an answer within 48 hours about 45 hours ago, even silence would be telling.
If they are this angry / desperate ... I think its 50/50 they file. They "don't get bossed around" and it buys them more time to decide and make up their mind.
I mean, at this point, this there anybody in Sacramento that doesn't see the writing on the wall. So if they are forced back, I think it changes very little based upon what's already coming to the surface.
The only downside for them is that Stern has said that the typical relocation process has already started. Thus, its not like the Maloofs get 120 days after the file to pull it back. The league might be so pissed / fully briefed that they give the Maloofs 30 days to submit final documents, report and vote two week later.
And if they file and the league says no, I'd say its at least 50/50 they sell. If they file after the league tells them its probably not going to happen, it means they don't have any other play.
This is pretty spot on analasys of this whole situation. With all the rumors and statements coming from the relocation board, and the obvious opposition from the 2 other teams in the LA market...compounded with the debt that the family already has, I think they only have one last card to play before they fold: file for relocation. Once that happens, they are out of options...and if unsuccessful with that, it would then be time to sell the fort.
How would they going to pay the relocation fee though? Is Samueli going to loan them the money to pay a 150 million dollar relocation fee...assuming they somehow managed to get enough yes votes?
From what I heard they would sue the NBA or something to that effect based on the last 3 moves only being 30mil or something. The NBA has a reason though to set it high imo because the Maloofs are trying to move to a market with 2 solidified teams. We shall see though.
Who would have ever thought it possible that in a Jackson Vs. Maloofs fight every single Kings fan would be rooting for Jackson? It's just surreal.
Did they say that though? I saw something about a answer being likely by then but not an actual statement from them about it.
Good grief. The Maloofs grasping at straws and groveling is sad to witness. The reek of desperation is getting overwhelming.
No screaming owl patooty. If they keep this up, the NBA may be thrilled to "encourage" them to sell. They are behaving very badly. I know with the great positive emotion comes the great negatives but sending someone to the office is over the line. Not sure which line but it's over the line. My goodness guys.
This is the coach they tried to hire and dissed Adelman in the process.

Gotta be a joke, right? Lawyers don't even go to reporters' homes in "All the President's Men." What a colossal blunder.
