KHTK Sports 1140 AM will tip off the 2005-06 Kings season beginning with the October 11 pre-season game versus the Dallas Mavericks and will feature the 7th annual Community Cup, which donates $100,000 from the proceeds of the game to a charitable capital improvement campaign. The regular season begins November 2 as the Kings travel to Houston to take on the Rockets.

hmm... am I totally naive & overly optimistic if I hope this means the Maloof are committed to keeping the team in Sacramento??

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – Maloof Sports & Entertainment today announced an extension of its twelve–year alliance with KHTK and Infinity Broadcasting Corp. through 2011. The new agreement will keep all Kings and Monarchs games on KHTK Sports 1140 AM, the flagship radio station for both teams. It will also provide for expanded Kings and Monarchs programming opportunities on KHTK as well as additional promotional activation with the entire Infinity Sacramento station group, which includes KNCI 105.1 FM, KSFM 102.5 FM, KZZO 100.5 FM, KHWD 93.7 FM, and KYMX 96.1 FMRADIO ALLIANCE WITH KHTK SPORTS 1140AM
