As someone who has had to work through two management takeovers in my previous job, it really sucks!

Hiring Coach Malone before your GM was a huge mistake. I can see why Vivek did it. There were rumblings of interest in Malone throughout the league and he didn't want to miss out on his guy.

Two things come to mind...

Vivek looks flat out unprofessional in this.
Will Cousins regress back into his angry, lost self?

It is never going to happen but how insane would it be if Rick Adelman came walking through that door with Peja?

It would have been better.. a thousand times better, to announce that Coach Malone has been replaced by "Coach Premium" (Karl, Adelman, Sloan) I could live with that.

But to let Corbin coach for a while... that wastes the whole season - the next to last season in Arco. I predict a lot of season ticket defections this off-season. I have three parters to think of so I'm in a bit of a quandary. If I was on my own - I probably bail. As it is, I probably hold my nose and stick with it - hoping for the best.

Malone had disagreed with ownership's pursuit of a Josh Smith trade in July, and made his position known to Ranadive, league sources said. Ranadive joined D'Alessandro in talks with theDetroit Pistons, but no agreement was ever reached.

Going before the season started, with Cuz, you had to squint to see 35 wins.

I'm really ambivalent about the freaking franchise now. So morbid. Hopefully this just lasts a day or so. Wish I could shake Mike Malone's hand.

This worries me a TON. So many rookie season ticket holders (like me) jumped in when the franchise was saved...and it's financially straining for me. But, the appearance of stability combined with the promise of a new arena was really enticing. And now? This feels like a punch in the gut.

we know what life will be like w/o cuz in the lineup. we got 2.5 years of seeing cuz in a kings uni. i say that bc by year 4, we'll know if he wants to stay or force his way out.

Beyond the basketball related problems with this, it's a terrible business decision.

Fans could hang with Malone and the team struggling, but a new coach completely failing in comparison to Malone?
