Malone fired

Or the fact that besides one trip to the WCF, his playoff record in Denver was 11-32.
Yeah but the fact is he never had the personal to do anything in the playoffs and he was going up against the Lakers and Spurs at full force a lot of the time.

No one should have been on the ****ing Hot seat!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what's so unbelievably stupid. Malone's not perfect. PDA's not perfect. This team's not perfect. But hell, we played quality basketball against quality opponents in November and came out 9-5. Very easily could have been 11-3, 12-2 if we didn't choke games away due to us being a young team. But guess what? Long-term, those losses don't matter because teams need to learn how to win.

Perhaps Cousins doesn't match a Karl uptempo style. But his most recent campaign led this team (only the players listed played 1000 min or more) to a .695 record in the West:

Lawson/A. Miller
Iguodala/C. Brewer
Gallinari/W. Chandler
Faried
Koufos/McGee

On paper, that team doesn't look very special to me. .500 in the West? Maybe. But .695? The front line is frankly terrible. Karl got that team to home court advantage in the first round. I don't know how he did it, but he's got some sort of magic up his sleeve. I'd bet he'd lead the Kings to a better record than Malone. I mean, you can't empirically test it, but that's my guess.

That team is loaded 3 deep at every position gall/Iggy were great in those years. Let's see him do that with the crap we have.

How the heck is that on Karl? His rosters significantly over-acheived and he had a highly flawed #1 option who continues to be unable to play with a 2nd star.

The bigger issue would be how much would Karl have left in the tank? If he even wanted to come back to coaching?

That's 11 more Playoff wins than we have had for the last nine years.
They had better teams over that same period too. Listen, I don't hate Karl and I think he played the hands he was dealt. I just don't think you make this move from a young, highly liked coach just to be able to get someone like Karl. Unless that is, you are so obsessed with small ball that you have to pursue that avenue at all costs.

The thing that worries me is the possibility of this not being the case. I can bite my tongue and be more forgiving of the front office if it turns out they had an agreement with George Karl. If it turns out they fired Malone simply due to his offense not beign fast enough and with no solutions prepared, I cannot.

Was hoping someone can confirm

Dec 15th we can trade players or for players signed in the off season correct?

If that's the case expect a trade tomorrow, and the Kings looking for a different philosophy.

I definitely agree that Malone never should have been fired in the diest place. But I am just talking about future options.

Was this why we were playing Derrick Williams more I know they wanted him to play the 4 with Rudy Gay at the 3 for a long time. He fits the small ball uptempo fastbreak dunks thing.
