Look at the Positives Verses Orlando Game

Bballkingsrock

All-Star
Well, another tough loss for the Kings. Right at the buzzer too!! Wow, what a finish and a game. For Orlando Dwight had a big game, but we are here to talk about the Kings. Here are a bunch of positives about the game:

- Peja had a great game coming back from his injurie. 28 points and 11-11 Ft.
- The new guys looked great again, with Skinner having 3 blocks.
- No injuries
- Brad taking some time off to rest for tomorrow's battle vs. the Big Daddy
- Doug getting to meet his old team, and Cuttino to say hi to his best friend who is like a brother to him, Steve Francis

Well another day of positives. To inform everybody, Iwill do this everytime the Kings lose. Hopefully, I won't have to do this often......:D

Please don't hesitate to add to my positives. i actually would hope for you to put some psitives!!

You do?? We JUST started March and only played 2 gams. Would you give March some time? What if we win the rest of the games in March? February was a HORRIBLE month for the Kings.( except Mike Bibby ;) )

Maybe it's just because I'm more Piksimistic lately, but I think your right on this one.

Piksi, fix your sign. Kings are now 13 and 3 when Peja leads the team in scoring.

Thanks. I am very slow with losses but thank You for spending even a tiny moment of Your life worrying about my signature

Wait are you counting pre-season? Cuz I can't count 3 games where Peja leads the team and we've lost(in the reg season).

Hard not to see it considering how you've made over 2,500 posts.

Positives,

wow, Peja had 28 points on 12 shots. If thats not super efficient I don't know what is... that like... 2.33 points per shot.... Awesome

NOte the 11 FTs -- actually 28 pts on 17attempts. Still very good.

One in New Orleans where mike was much worse that tonight and webber was not any good either. He scored 37 or so

Second in Seattle where he played well but we gave the game away

Tonight where our guards killed us.

Wait, if you attempt a shot but then get fouled and miss, do they count it as a field goal attempted and missed, or do they just ignore it?

They do not. He scored 28 pts on 12 FGAs. That is the official way they keep the stats

It is the offical way they keep stats, but its highly deceptive when you're trying to figure out efficiency. Fact is Peja took 17 possessions to score 28 points, not 12. If a guy shoots 2-5 but 10-10 from the free throw line he has NOT just scored 14 points on 5 shots as the all-time efficiency King. 14pts on 9 possessions (most likely) is closer to the truth. (or imagine if you will a guy who is 2-2 from the field and 3-4 from the line being accused of scoring 7 point on 2 shots, which is impossible of course)

I understand that but somebody needs to tell that to NBA.

Wow, thats weird. But I'm glad they don't do the other way by counting shots you were fouled on as a field goal attempt, otherwise your fg% would drop when you went to the line and got points. But both ways have their flaws I guess.

It's really tough to tell; there's no way to know how many free-throws he took on non-shooting fouls, which happens often. The nba really needs to start keeping this stat better. Does any of the basketball stat websites have something?

Yah, he is getting to the line which I like...

I am going out on a limb here, but I think the team needs a homestand for all the new/old players to get to know eachother, and be able to practice with one another.

The NBA god's smile upon the Kings tonight and Houston, Lakers and Minny all loose so the only gound lost was agianst the Spurs and Seatle, I guess since the Suns did not paly we also lost a 1/2 game on them as well. Could have been worse.

still that is not a great indicator especially if the person getting fouled is not in an act of making a shot and still is shooting FTs (eg. the team is over the limit and fouls a player away from the basket) or when shooting techs.
