Lets start another Arco Arena sell out streak!!

This team has showed more heart and hustle then I have seen in a long time from this Kings team. They have proven that even with most of their starters out of the lineup they will continue to fight for each and every game they play. The game last night further shows what a great team we have in the making and we should start another sell out streak. From my own personal experience this year I have gone to more games then I have in the past 2 years combined simply because I love the way they play basketball. It just start with one sell out and it will hopefully one day again lead us to 300 + consecutive sell outs in the near future. Go Kings!!!

It's a vicious circle. Win and the fans show up. Fans support leads to wins.
I agree with the original poster. Go to the games, the team is "earning your respect", as the kids like to say. Plenty of support was there prior to the Kings being a playoff team.

Actually I think talent leads to wins. We had more than a decade of sellouts in Sacto in the pre-Adelman era and never had a single winning season.

As an aside, the key to a new sellout streak remains Geoff. To get any more than a once in a blue mooon sellout, Geoff will have to do something exciting in the next few months. The arena is 2/3 full and the season ticket base is heavily eroded, In order to get that back which is what is necessary to get consistent sellouts) there would have to be something dramatic and exciting. And no I don't mean going raising our record to 15-21.

You have a good 13-14k that show up, and that are die-hard fans. Than you have another 3-4k that are fair weather fans that show up when the team wins, and doesn't when the team loses. It's the same anywhere you go (except for the number skewed a bit either way).

Reason they showed up at the start because the Kings were still something new (for 10+ seasons lol)

Yes, Petrie needs to make a dramatic move. I think also that the organization needs to showcase the one major signing Petrie made last eyar and that was the signing of Theus. This was a huge rebuilding step. The major difference between last year's team and this year's team is the coach. Or so goes my opinion. It is said that coaches rarely make a much of a difference. There are also the few that cost a team wins and there are the few that gain wins. We have made a transition from the bad one to the good one and didn't end up with a retread average coach.

This team plays hard whether it has its starters or its bench players and that is because of Theus. Again, my opinion and not necessarily fact. When we compare stats from one year to another, we have to somehow factor in the "Theus factor."

Let's see how Bibby plays. If he comes back a rejuvenated Mike, chalk it up to Theus.

It will take the fans a while to forgive the organization from trying to pass off a power point guru as an NBA coach.

The sellout streak will start again but I'm not that anxious for it. Why? Simple. When the Kings got really good the last time around it quickly turned into a "place to be seen" situation. Going to Kings games was the thing to do, and it didn't matter if you could tell a dunk from a free throw. I personally would rather see 14,000 PASSIONATE fans in Arco than 17,317 fans of whom a good portion just sit there like rocks...

i hear that....the atmosphere has been really fun in ARCO this year

The symbiotic relationship between the team and the fans is back. You can actually feel it - at least I can. Your skin tingles and it's almost as though the air is literally charged with electricity. I'm reminded in a way of the "Borg" - all the fans meld together to become one gigantic force of energy and the team draws on it. And the team feeds the energy back to the giant force, making it even larger.

If you've never been to a game at Arco, you cannot even imagine the feeling. If you have been to a game at Arco when it's happened, you can't ever forget it...

I was speaking indirectly. Fan support certainly helps that pass become a little crisper, and that screen to be set a little tougher. Fan support helps you dig in during the 4th quarter.

I also agree that now is the time to make a big move to really "bring the fans home."
