Grant said this just seconds ago on KHTK:
- SAR practiced today but limited
- Peja will be out another week (had some sort of shot to his back)
- Bibby did not practice

Bibby was hurting last night after that fall to his back. He was icing his lower back (or tailbone, for all I know) at each time-out late in the game. I figured he would be very stiff today and sit out of practice. The question will be whether or not he can play on Tuesday.

Peja may have gotten a cortisone shot (or something like that) in his back. I hope it helps. Being out another week is not surprising. He may continue to have a touch-n-go year with that type of injury. :(

did not expect Bibby to practice, maybe not a for a few days... looked like he brused his back/tail bone. Hopefully it was not too serious and he will be able to play next game.

What about Bonzi? I heard he was starting to work out a week ago or so, and still nothing is heard about him.

Bonzi is doing very limited work before games, according to a report from Grant and Jerry before the NOH game.

I heard Bonzi may come as soon as this Sunday!

I sincerely doubt that. Tough though he be, a groin injury is nothing to mess with. If he comes back too early he could easily completely tear it and end up missing the rest of the season (bad for us) and really screwing up his contract year (bad for him).

Actually, what they said was that Bonzi might come back during the road trip that starts Saturday.

I'm sick of all these injuries.

A couple questions though:

After peja gets the shot will he be able to play and will he be able to shoot etc. again?

How bad is Mike's injury?

Is Mike gonna play vs PHX?

We don't know if whatever shot Peja gets will make it so he can play. Back problems are tricky; sometimes a shot will help temporarily but if this is indeed a situation with a protrouding disc, it's possible the only thing that will fix it is surgery. As far as the shot making him able to shoot again, that's also highly speculative. Nobody knows...we do know that Peja has a low pain threshold. While some players might be able to play after a shot treatment, Peja may not be able to. We simply won't know.

The same holds true for Mike's lower back. It will most likely be a game-time decision on whether or not he plays against Phoenix. If he's stiff and sore, he's not gonna play.

Better now than later. Yes, we do have an extremely depleted and badly assembled team, but we've also seen glimpses of what this team can do when healthy. We're still not that far from the 8th spot (about 3 games) but we have to get some healthy bodies in there and play consistently. Our margin for error right now is at zero.

Peja got a cortisone shot and this takes about a week to get the full effect so he is supposed to be out for a week. Also, Bonzi is going all of the drills in practice but has not gotten the go ahead to practice full contact. He does see his Doctor today and expects to get further clearance but we should know more before/during the game tonight.
