Lakers' Jerry Buss Sits On NBA's Kings Relocation Panel

I don't see how he's part of it. Sterling for not putting the Clippers in Anaheim, sure. But Buss has nothing to do with it.

Donald Sterling has a habit of letting his decisions cause ruin in other lives doesn't he? He's the only one on the planet who wants the Clippers playing in Staples Center. Everyone else thinks they should have been in Anaheim years ago. Solves a lot of issues there. Also if Stern was as all powerful as advertised, he should have booted this lame excuse for a team owner long ago. How about they do an exchange where the Maloofs buy out the Clippers and move them to Anaheim and Webber's group buys out the Kings and Sterling gets to retire from the NBA? Yeah I can dream...

As I cannot boot the local Ford dealer from his business, Stern cannot boot an owner. His power comes from his leadership abilities. Under his leadership, the NBA has become very successful monetarily.

Smugness yes, reverence no! He's just doing what he always does, plays into what serves his selfish needs best. He doesn't care about us fans or Sac. Only thing he cares about is the $$$ the Lakers can lose if the Kings do move.

Agreed. If we rewind to preseason when the lakers were playing a preseason game at Honda Center, Phil told reporters that he believes the LA metro area CAN support 3 teams. That was well before the news of the Kings being serious came out. Now, just months later, he thinks the LA metro area is too small. Its not too hard to figure out. He is Jeanie's boy toy. The buss family makes less money if the Kings move there. Doing his duty as boy toy, he acts to support the Sac fans and the Kings staying to use his public draw to add another opposition against the move. Thats all there is.

The BoG could vote to remove an owner just like they vote to approve new owners. But it's not something they want to do. They would be voting to remove an owner who is making them money. Unless Sterling does something more drastic than the things he already has or has been accused of I dont see it happening.

That's different than Stern removing an owner.

How does the 120 days the BOG's have to vote affect this? If they hold off for 4 months, Taylor/ICON, or the CWebb group should have finalized their plans by then. The landscape can contunie to shift in our favor before they actually vote it would appear.

They they dont recommend them to stay right now then delaying the final vote is the last hope next to legalities.
