Lakers @ Jazz

Derek Fisher has three rings too.

At least he was a team first guy.

He was a team first guy who won 3 rings on the exploits of the non-team first guy.

Webber may be branded "choker" by ignoramuses, but Kobe's got a lot of cleaning up to do to remove the giant "Does Not Get It" brand from his own forehead.

Kind of hard to dispute that Webber has earned something of a choker label, at least in big games. His track record goes back to college. Came up real small in the biggest game of his NBA career too (the game where Bibby solidified himself as a clutch player). Guy has such perfect timing that he gets traded and within a week misses a game-tying chippie at the buzzer against his old team.

Why do people always blame Webber for the Game 7 Loss. Yes Bibby did play big that game. But Webber' stats that game were the following 20-8-11 and 1 steal and 2 blocks. If you look at the Play by Play.

It wasn't Webber missing all the free throws it was the team missing them. He did miss 2 but Vlade missed 6 in the 3rd and 4th. Keep blaming Webber for the Lakers Series loss in 02. Yeah he averaged 24/11 and 6 that series and shot 51% from the field. Webber didn't choke when he hit multiple game winners this year. Yes he hasn't been the most clutch player, but how many big men are really that clutch, I guess KG and Duncan, but that's really it.

BOTTOM LINE
Every one except Laker Homers understand that the jurry is still out on Kobe. No one doubts he can play but so far NOTHING can be said for his ablity as a team player. In fact NOTING can be said for Kobe for does not begin in Shaqs shadow. Kobe may yet learn how to lead a team but in my book the only diference between the bean and Iverson is a few years with Shaq.

Oh man, that still hurts.

I didn't blame Webber for losing the game, first off. What I was getting at was that he emotionally unravelled in the 2nd half and he couldn't focus the refs out. He was trying to use them for advantages instead of working Horry over in the post. He drew a technical foul for yelling, "Call the F'in foul!" at a ref. They panned in on his face and his bottom lip literally quivered as if he was on the edge of tears. That extra point helped LA send the game to OT. He spent most of the 2nd half trying to draw charge fouls with flops and became more unnerved when he wasn't given those fouls. At one point, he flopped under the basket and allowed Shaq to dunk knowing full well that the refs wouldn't call an offensive foul that far under the rim. He had a great statistical game, but didn't play a focused game (like what Russell accused Chamberlain of in the 69 Finals, although Wilt was hobbled). On the other hand, Bibby, Shaq, and Kobe played with confidence, determination, and focus.

Bibby is probably the King of those teams I liked the least, but I did respect the performances he gave. He stepped up and played champion-caliber ball.

lol @ 32-35

For me as a Kings fan this still suck. It is still too good.

Now if they had 2-65 I would be much happier ;)

( well actually I would still be pissed at these 2 teams that could not beat them)
