Lakers/Heat game

I am not watching the game but, according to Yahoo Sports, Lamar Odom has 2 technical fouls. If this is so, why is he still in the game and not ejected like Doug was the other night?

Hmmmm. I'm watching the game and haven't seen anything to indicate him getting two technical fouls. Is it possible there was an illegal defense foul, which is treated as a technical, but doesn't result in a player's ejection? Just a guess, because I honestly do not know...

I am not sure. Unfortunately, I am at work right now and was just checking out Yahoo Sports. At the bottom of the box score they put who has technical fouls. It reads like this:

Technical Fouls: Miami - S. O'Neal 1, C. Laettner 1. LA Lakers - L. Odom 2

I didn't think of whether or not it was a illegal defense or not.

Gargy - Can you be ejected for a defensive 3-second foul? I have a vague memory of it being a non-ejectable foul but again, I'm just guessing...

94-94 with 44 seconds left.

Will be Heat ball because the Lakers just had a three-point basket NOT count. 24-second violation. Kobe took too much time after coming off a screen to get the ball out to Atkins. Atkins shot was sweet - just too late.

Wade missed the dagger shot at the buzzer and they're going to overtime...

Oh, how nice. A BLATANT and OBVIOUS offensive foul call against Lamar Odom is totally ignored by the officials. Hmmmmm. Interestingly enough, that seemed to strike a spark under the Heat.

They are now leading 100-96 with 3:20 left in OT and the Laker crew is finding out that without Shaq on the court, the Heat are FAST! They're also learning what we learned - you can't leave Eddie Jones open in the corner.

Oh, give me a bleeping break. Odom uses the forearm again and they call the Heat for the blocking foul. Non-shooting but what a load of crapola, IMHO.

Odom hits the three to bring the score to 100-99.

2:46 left.

Laettner is fouled and is going to the line.

(Hmmm. I seem to be doing a PBP thread here...)

;)

Laettner makes both to take the score to 102-99 Heat.

Kobe with a long three shot and a miss, Lakers try for the board and FINALLY Odom is called for a foul. (his 5PF)

Heat ball again.

Wade for two to take it to 104-99. Staples getting a little quieter. Chants of "Kobe" have stopped.

ANOTHER Laker miss by J. JOnes; heat ball.

1:18 left on the clock.

Odom for three.

104-102 Heat

1:00 left

Wade miss; ball oob off Lakers.

Still Heat ball, will have 10 seconds left on the 24-clock.

Lakers v Heat...Hmm, I can't decide who I want to lose.

I think you can have two techs if they're not both for behavior. I think I recall that happening in a Kings game where one of our players had a behavior tech, then later received one for a delay of game tech on an inbounds play at the end of a close game.

I know Odom's first one was for slamming the ball to the ground with his fist after a referee non-call. I didn't see the second one.

56.6 left in the game.

Heat ball, Eddie Jone fadeaway misses.

Laker ball.

5 left on the shot clock and Atkins is called for an offensive foul.

Heat ball with 27.4 left on the clock.

SVG calls a 20 that is turned into a commercial break..like that's a surprise. ;)

AKS - I have discovered that Laker hate runs clear to the bone. I will be immensely satisfied if they do not win this game.

;)

Ball inbounds in the back court. Heat runs the clock. Lakers try to tie up the ball with 6 seconds left on the shot clock, and the Heat burn a quick SMART time-out.

9.2 left in the game.

Shot clock violation. Lakers will get the ball down 2, with 3 seconds left on the clock...

This is GOOD NBA basketball.

:D

Drama in Staples...

Okay, wait a bleeping minute. They now put 3.4 seconds on the clock, although there were 6 left on the 24-second when there were 9.2 left in the game. Someone mind explaining that one to me?????

Heheheheheheheh. Bryant for three at the buzzer...and misses.

:D :D :D

Shaq talking to Lamar Odom and the rest of the Lakers but NOT Kobe that I can see...

Poor little Corvette. Ran out of gas and sputtered to a stop on the side of the road.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!

In all honesty, it is my humble opinion that Shaq fouling out was actually good because the Heat became much faster...

Dang VF, that was COLD, that laugh was. I can hear it in my dreams even :D

Shaq's postgame comment: I didn't come out here to do anything special, to go for 45 or 50 points or anything. We played good team basketball, and won. (not word for word, but pretty much the gist)

What an indirect attack on... Lamar Odom.

ah man, i just *HAD* to go to the store towards the end of the 4th and i missed it. AH BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i did catch the highlights on espnnews, but it wasn't the same.

the result was to my liking. WTG HEAT!!!! i actually kinda like that team, i liked em last year in the playoffs. wade is amazing!

hahahah BEAT THAT KOBE!!!! kobe is AI this year! how lovely, missing 18 out of 30 shots, nice job!!! you can have you 42, heat took the win. nice showing in OT... out of lamar odom that is.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Kobe=I can win by myself err.. but I didn't

12 for 30?? Are you kidding me? Scores 42 and still loses I love it. Nice 9 turnovers too. I especially liked that sweet spin move and left hand finish by Wade in crunch time right in Kobes face. Shaq wouldn't even stand with him before the game at the usual meeting with the refs, wouldn't shake his hand either. It was hilarious how he dogged him out after the game too. What a Christmas present!
