Laker fixation comments

As much as I hate anything LA... I must say they win...

For one LA has scoreboard.

#2 we obsess over everything LA while they continue on with there lives and don't even give the word Sacramento a second look.

Bottom line we are the fools. Just like the nerdy kid peeps made fun of in school that is now a doc or whatever and making 10x anyone else.

When we actually win a ring we have more room to talk... otherwise we are just a sucky "COW TOWN"

lol...

we are not the fools... we are just not in denial like their fans, and actually acknowledge that a rivalry exists. it doesnt matter if we both enter the game 0-42, both mathetmatically eliminated from playoff contention... i still wanna beat the crap out of them, because they are the lakers.

and just because we don't have a ring, and they do, doesn't mean we are not allowed to be mentioned in the same sentence as them. I never thought i'd say this to a fellow kings fan (this statement is usually reserved for laker fans), but stop living in the past. If the playoffs start today, we aren't even in, and lakers are getting swept by either dallas or SA, so it doesn't even matter.

It's a matter of pride. These two teams will always hate each other no matter what, that's what makes watching the games more fun...

And that's what's gonn make snatching their playoff spot even MORE fun ;)

Untrue, on insidehoops.com's message board a few laker fans make fun of sacramento when talking to me daily. A lot of Laker fans still hate the Kings, and I hate LA more than anything.

Go to any Laker board, they all hate the Kings, with as much disdain as we do them. Obsessing about a team that knocked us out of a championship run many years in a row, a So Cal team, a team that is deemed the Yankees of basketball is only natural, don't ya think. They don't even acknowledge that we were the only opponent that were a threat to them during their run. Not to mention all the snide comments, name calling and insults that have come our way from not only their players, but also their coach and organization. Thanks, but I'll continue to hate them till the day I die.

The Yankees aren't the Yankees anymore.;)

Not like the late 1990s-2000, no. Age and some failed moves has lessned them, but they've still been a damn good team and a contender every year. As they're going to be this year.

Still doesn't apply to the Lakers in recent times. ;)

Except for 5 times in nearly 60 years, they have made the playoffs. They've been consistantly good for decades...not championship calibur all the time, but still good enough to make the playoffs. Every team has bumps in the road...the Lakers have been fortunate to have had fewer than most. I'll take that...I think most fans would.:)

Not this fan. Its more of what the team represents that I dislike. In one word, Hollywood. I hate the Lakers, but can I hate Luke Walton? Never. Kobe, now thats another story.

Yes, I hate the Lakers with a special passion.

I do not, however, give a tinker's dam about what their fans may say on their boards about the Kings ... or anything else. Obsessing about your rival is, IMHO, just a little pathetic.

The best way to deal with them is to disempower them. They are, after all, just another team in the NBA.

That doesn't mean indifference. It just means that for 361 days a year, they mean very little. (Granted I like to see them lose, but I don't go out of my way to find out their game scores...) On the four times a year we play them, then bring out the cowbells, the "DIE LAKER SCUM!" signs, the BEAT LA chants, etc. But the rest of the time why give them space in your brain?

Word.

EDIT: Meaing that I as a fan of "generic" team would much rather watch my team have fewer bumps in the road than other teams. I am NOT saying I'm all of a sudden a Laker fan.

I wasn't saying that other fans would want that for the Lakers...I meant that for fans of their own specific team....that most fans would like their team to be consistantly good for such a long period of time and going to the playoffs.

Thanks VF, for "getting it.":) Believe me, no one would ever mistake you for a Laker fan...just as I would never be mistaken as a Kings fan.;)

Ahhh.....but why then be a "contributer" to a team you aren't a fan of??? ;)

She's not contributing to the team; she's contributing to the website. Just like not being a Rockets fan doesn't preclude me from contributing to Clutch City.

And why do you care, anyway? It's not your money.

Ahhh...then why aren't you a "contributer" to a website of a team you are a fan of?? ;) (Not that I really care, since it's not my $)

I enjoy coming here and have met many very nice people here... I felt it worthwhile to donate to help keep the site up and running.

And, many of us appreciate your contribution more than you know, hoopsie. It never ceases to amaze me how many Kings fans don't feel the need to contribute, but to each his/her own. I am just happy that NBA fans like yourself enjoy us "nice" folk. ;)

hoopsfan wins the thread.

Thanks for the kind words, 6th. There are people from this site that I consider friends and I appreciate the comradery that the NBA can bring...no matter what team you are a fan of. :)

I don't know how she keeps doing it with some of the newer peeps that post here.

Every family has members they love but just don't like to take out in public, Gargy.

;)

Alright already, enough about hollier then though contributors. ;)

I've been meaning to chip in for quite some time, but always forget. Nice reminder.
