G-League
i know it is a well known problem, but there is only one salution to this, start beating!
when the great Chicago of Jordan and Pipen were dealing with teams like Orlando with Shak or Huston with Hakim or NY with Ewing and they had Bill Cartwright, they use to be agressive and foul them, not letting them an easy basket.
they had two other centers i forgot there names, and almost every game they were both out with 6 fouls, but Shak and Ewing never got an easy basket.
i never saw Haws and JT in foul trouble, every time we meet a team with a dominant center or PF he finishes with 30 p and 12 reb.
jusr remmember what Amare,Bosh and Haward did to us.
this team has to start playing agressive and not giving the other team an easy basket.
if they do that i have a feeling every thing will change.

You never saw JT is foul trouble?

But yes, a thug up front would help. Brockman is when he gets the minutes, but he's a midget. But more talent would help as well. As would experience. An extra defender in the backcourt. And most of all, some real length and shotblocking ot cover up all these mistakes we make. I am a big proponent of physical play and just smacking somebody if they dare to get inside. But by itself it can only cure so much. We're shy of competent personnel, not just toughness. One day I can see Tyreke and Donte as leaders of a good defensive team. Omri and Brockman as the sort of tough support staff needed to make that work. But that day is not here yet, and the rest of the roster still needs defensive work.

Brockman would be a bigger help if he could score 4-6 buckets a night, short-medium range jumpers and of course put-backs. But he always seems to look to pass out on offensive rebounds. A jump hook out to 6-8 ft would be an awesome plus for him or even a few more mid-range jumpers. He's always open as they never really guard him. Or drives to the basket........that would surprise the crap out of the opposition and help the other guys as well.

He's actually been doing that lately. In one of the recent games (I don't remember if it was the Toronto game or SAS) he was actually a lot more active on the offensive side, and even took a sweet drive to the rim when the defense just left him open. I'm pretty sure PW is working with him on getting more involved in the offense.

Well, for a few games there he seemed to be more aggressive in going back up strong on the offensive rebound. Problem was, it was inevitably in a bunch of traffic and he kept getting blocked. If he doesn't have a clear path to the basket (and often he doesn't on offensive boards) I'm much happier setting up the offense than simply giving it back up. I think he's just too small to really do the damage down low in traffic.

Brockman may develop into that kind of player with time. In college he was never asked to be an offensive player, so that part of his game never developed. As you can see, he's a better athlete than most thought, so there's no reason he can't add some offense to his game.

He plays it the way I did on the offensive glass -- inow your limitations an kick it back out. And that is still immensely valuable. That's what Rodman did as well. Get everybody else xtra shots, and they like you. :)

Thing is that Brockman is short and not able to score over guys at this point -- the majority of his points coming right at the rim where he is good at using the hoop to shield him. So taking the board and kicking it out is his best play. When you get down to it an offensive tip that's consistently missed ala Jason isn't actually valuable -- its almost stat padding.

Brick is right, we need more talent. Our offensive players don't play defense and our defensive specialists don't play offense. And, of course, we have the others that don't consistently do either. And then, thank heavens, we have Evans. More talent and more experience, go get some of each and then we can properly develop some of the others.
