Kyle Weaver:

bajaden

Hall of Famer
Its being reported that the Thunder are going to release Kyle Weaver. I've liked this kid from when he was at Washington St. He's a very underrated player that was forced to play point foward at Wash st.. He's 6'6" and a good athlete. He's a very good ballhandler and was the best passer on his college team. He's very good at getting to the basket, and has the potential to be a great defender.

Now I realize that this is all about potential. But he would come cheap and he's young. His biggest drawback was his shooting, which wasn't terrible but streaky. He's improved his form since entering the NBA. If this kid can develop a mid-range shot he could be at worse, a great player off the bench, and at best, a starter next to Tyreke. What I liked most about him was his inate feel for the game. He has a very high basketball IQ. I hope the Kings give him a look see.

I agree. He makes a ton of sense and just let him battle for those 3rd and 4th guard minutes.

It's reported he was approached by Omris former team Maccabi Tel Aviv today here in Israel btw.

Also OT, Derek carracter is about to sign in another Israeli side, Hapoel Jerusalem, cause it's being said his chances to break into the Lakers roster are very low.

I'm right there with you on this one, Baja. Hasn't done much in the league yet, but could turn out to be a solid role player, and one that fits well in the backcourt with Tyreke. Might as well take a gander.

I endorse this move whole heartedly. I think this could be an inexpensive option for the 3rd, 4th or 5th guard spot. I beleive he was known as a better than average defender in college as well. I remember hoping would trade for an early second round pick to try and get him and give him a run, the year he was drafted. No such luck.

Meh.. Not really interested in Weaver. Hasn't seen much of him but was never really excited enough to want to see more of him.
