If he wants it so badly that he had to play trough the garbage time - he should have it.

Still it is a NBDL team
Now, that's not really fair... There are at least two other players on that team that would make any other NBA squad in the league; Odom and Mihm are real players. Not great players, but real players.

The rest of those guys? Well, the only good thing about the how sorry the Kings are this year is that there isn't a single player on the team that we couldn't do without. The Lakers? They'd better pray to whatever god they believe in that Kobe doesn't get hurt.

:eek:Man, what a performance! As much as I hate Kobe, I was really rooting for him to break that record. When Kobe passed Wilt's record the Lakers' play by play guys were like "There goes Wilt!". I don't know, I kinda find that disrespectful, considering the guy is dead. They shouldn't have said it like that.

Since last Thursday - I like Odom a lot. My favorite Laker just in front of Walton and Brown

Even with Kobe being so great - they are not going anywhere

I would like to see Kobe and AI on the same team. Would be awsom to watch

Only if they could be teamed up with Wally Szczerbiak... do you think that they might break out into a fist fight over the ball?

81 Pts to hold the record 2nd highest points scored in a game...

what a ball hog.

Looks like he beat his career high with 2 assists however...
lol...cmon man....

most guys couldnt score 81 if u didnt put a man on them the whole game....

it was quite a display....give credit where credit is due....dude was unstoppable...and lead them from way behind to the victory....

You would also need Artest because somebody has to go into the stands when the fight breaks out. I also see Wally being pimpslapped right before AI pulls the gun

was that before or after decided that 2 players on a team is one too many and chased Shaq out of LA?:p
that was in 02 when big daddy was there and the little boy had to actually pass the ball

I feel sorry for Koby. He scores 81 pts and Sonics-Suns put a better show on the same night. :)
Heh, think the OTHER way around. Too bad for the Suns/Sonics. They put up a hek of a show, and Kobe has to grand-stand and take away all the buzz with his modern-day-record-breaking-performence :)

Actually a former Kings player took 1 more shot than that on a nationally televised game to reach his career high. Yet he scored 30 points less. And the Kings loss.

Good point. I think in both of CWebb's 50 point games (I think he's had two in his career, but I'm too lazy to look) I think he's basically scored a point per shot. Kobe "only" taking 47 shots to get his 81 points is pretty impressive from a statistical point of view. No idea how it looked to watch it.

Also, as other pointed out, the Raptors were up by 12 at one point in the third quarter (73-61, I think). From that point, they gave up 61 more points to the Lakers. Pathetic.

I remember those days.. back when the Lakers were good enough to win meaningful games.;)

And, back when we were ALMOST good enough to win meaningful games.
