Kobe down and out...for how long?

To answer the thread: Hopefully forever.
Excuse me? We all hate the Lakers but the only reason we even had a rivalry was because of what Kobe and Shaq built. That's what made it fun, Kobe's greatness and the ability to knock them out, or at least should have. No Kobe, no greatest player of his generation, the rivalry wouldn't have been nearly as good.

I don't see how you have so little respect for the greatest player ever other than MJ. This transcends the name on the front of jerseys you root for, this is more about what Kobe has done for the league, younger generations, having at least some appreciation for a guy who pushed the boundaries of the game. There's a reason numerous players across the league have come out wishing him well. RESPECT. Want to beat him within the lines but respect him outside the lines.

I seriously can't believe you posted that. Kings fans are better than wishing harm and career ending injuries to all-time greats. We're the fans who gave Stockton a standing ovation in a playoff game in Arco.

One of the best to play the game? The reason I don't like Kobe is because I don't like his game! I feel the rivalry as much as any other Kings fan, but if he were a player I admired, I'd have at least grudging respect for him. But I don't. Take the team that they've put together. You'd think it'd be, "Dwight. Kobe. Steve. Pau. Back to Kobe." But no. It's, "Kobe. Kobe. Kobe. Kobe. Kobe. Occasional Dwight." He is just a bad player. The team around him? Pau Gasol, amazing foward. They use him all wrong. Steve Nash, legendary point guard-all wrong. Dwight Howard, once-in-a-lifetime center-all freaking wrong. And this is because of Kobe. No, I assure you, I'm not letting the rivalry get in the way of this one. There's a lot of NBA players I don't like, simply because of their game. I don't like Durant and Westbrook's game. I don't like Melo's game. I don't like Kyrie's game. I don't even like Tyreke's game! So why don't you guys learn the facts before you call a guy out like that!!!!!

He is overrated to me. That's all I can tell you. I think he's a good person, and he means well for his team. But he doesn't make a positive impact on the court, no matter how many career points he has scored.

Wow.

If Pau, Dwight and Nash aren't being used right, blame Jim Buss and his choice of Mike D'Antoni. HE'S the one who doesn't know how to use the talent that is on the team. Making Pau shoot 3 pointers and then benching him? Thinking Nash will be the savior of the team when he comes back from an injury?
If Kobe doesn't make a positive impact on the court and the guys he plays with...why is it that players like Trevor Ariza, Shannon Brown, Bynum, Jordan Farmar, Sasha and Lamar Odom suddenly have a marked drop off in production and efficiency when they go someplace else...if they're even still playing? These are all players that other teams went after and wanted. Hear about any of them now?

Listen, I get the whole Laker hate thing. I get it... but to spew the kind of low class crap that you are, Cwebb#4, says more about you than it does about Kobe.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. And my opinion is that your opinion is whack.

OMG. I have souvenirs from Kings games that are older than you are. I've followed the NBA since the 60s. You're obviously spouting a rhetoric you've heard from someone else because it makes no sense.

You're talking about the current Lakers roster as though that defines Kobe Bryant. It doesn't. Anyone who has been on this board knows I have no love for Kobe Bryant. But to deny his talent, his skill, his dedication to the game and his influence on MILLIONS of fans all over the world is simply delusional.

You need to learn some basketball history, grasshopper. And you need to show some respect to one of the best (I cannot believe I'm defending Kobe Bryant right now) to ever play the game.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH! Yeah, I bet you're one of those guys who think Isaiah Thomas is better than Kobe.

To those who wish that Kobe's career is over etc: you guys have no respect for the game of basketball whatsoever. You know everyone's talking so much about the NBA expanding into the Indian market with Vivek taking over the Kings. Let me tell you something. The NBA wasn't brought to China by Yao Ming. It was Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is and was by far the biggest name in basketball outside of the USA for the last 10+ years, with it now slowly shifting to James. This is a guy who I dare say more than 50% of young basketball players in the last decade grew up looking up to. As kings fans we may not like his antics or the guy as a person but there should be ZERO doubt that he is one of the greatest players of all time, and has been the biggest name in basketball around the world second only to Michael Jordan. To wish that the world of basketball lose one of its greats so prematurely is just ... shameful and tragic, and I ashamed to have you as fans of the same team that I support. So you don't like the guy. Big deal. There are millions of kids around the world who look to him as a basketball role model, and I think their hopes being crushed matter far far more than your puny, pathetic opinions.

Yeah, I bet you're one of those guys who just thinks Isaiah Thomas is better than Kobe.
Wow. That was pretty insulting. Everything you just said about me is incorrect, but that was going way too far. You think I'm a.....a.....bandwagoner? I never thought any Kings fan would be so petty. This is the internet. If I wanted to, I could go lie about myself and join a Miami Heat forum. Answer me this: Why do I put up with that comment? Why aren't I a bandwagon Heat fan?

What? What does Isaiah Thomas have anything to do with being a bandwagon fan? Your previous comments seem to indicate that you think great offensive players are over rated, that they are selfish yadayadayada. Well the image that the media portrays of Isaiah Thomas is of a player that is completely unselfish, who plays with heart and stuff like that right?

Anyway I'm done talking to you. Your lack of respect and understanding for the game and its players makes me sick.

Lack of respect and understanding......? I'm done talking to you as well. You're blind if you think that's the case.

And when did I ever say Isaiah Thomas was better than Kobe!?!

Yet you write this I don't get?

He is just a bad player
But he doesn't make a positive impact on the court
See If you anything to back up what say then maybe I wouldn't be as confused as to why you would call someone else blind.
