Okay, I'm convinced our campaign for Eric Moreland got the job done. So, riding the success of our first endeavor, let's try again.

Here's my tweet from about an hour ago:

Moreland - check. Get @kayte_c and @carmichaeldave to host new House Party Live? Let's get it done! #ForeverPurple #LLTK #Kingsfans

Here's Dave's response:

@carmichaeldave 1h
@vladefan21 @kayte_c we agree

Mods can split into separate thread if necessary.

Looks like a pre and post-game show are confirmed for next year as well a couple different Kings-centered shows! Nice to hear, the more coverage for the Kings the better.

Good good. Frankly, when we were doing the Bring Back Kayte stuff it was with hope that she would have a bigger role than she returned to. While its great she's back, she's being wasted as sideline candy (although she has really improved at that since here first stint with us). She's an analyst, she just needs a forum and the fanbase gets a little smarter for it.

I am against the idea of Kayte Christensen for House Party Live, but only because I am, instead, for the idea of Kayte Christensen for Color Analyst. I have no particular opinion on Carmichael Dave, but Jerry Reynolds should be phased out, and Christensen should replace him. #JerryOutKayteIn

Well, at this point I feel like the more likely scenario is Jerry out, Samurai Scott in, seeing as the Redheaded One is apparently his BFF. If that were the case, I'd settle for Kayte doing pre-game, halftime, and post-game analysis.

I think we should Scot into our front office instead -- he could/would have saved us a couple of ugly Kansas mistakes if we'd just listened to the guy who, you know, was actually covering the Kansas team.

agreed. if vivek and co. really wanna ride this progressive nba 3.0 wave of theirs, i suggest promoting kayte to be the first female color analyst in the nba (she would be the first, correct, excepting sideline reporters?).

That has been what I have argued for with her since her debut. Don't know if its in the cards. Jerry is an institution, and I think has talked about not wanting to give it up until he can't physically do it anymore. But in general the more Kayte analysis the better for Kings fans. If its pre/post game that's still a nice step forward. But yeah, I have seen her as a potential groundbreaking figure. Not only smarter and better spoken than the majority of male color guys, but she has the shallow that female reporters are held to too (i.e. she's attractive). She's got the package if somebody just had the vision to open that door.

No Kayte, she's horrible at what she does. She's as bad as Amy G. for the Giants.

jerry reynolds is, indeed, an institution, particularly within the sacramento community and team history. the question is whether or not kayte sticks it out with this organization long enough to eventually succeed him (assuming that's a career trajectory she's interested in). it'd bum me out if somebody decided to snatch her away from the kings in order to "get there first," so to speak. it feels like a domino that's just waiting to fall, with women like cheryl miller and doris burke having already made in-roads as sideline reporters/color analysts at the national level, and with plenty of ex-wnba players potentially waiting in the wings, as well. regardless, it'd be a nice touch for the kings to at least broaden kayte's role as an analyst, considering they've mentioned plans to revive the sacramento monarchs; bring back the city's wnba franchise, and employ an ex-wnba player in a visible role with the city's nba franchise...

I almost worry about her getting associated with the Monarchs just in that would be a perfect way to honor her and marginalize her at the same time. Bring back the female reporter to go become the Monarchs color commentator, and no longer feel any pressure to advance her on the men's side. In fact have excuses not to. She's a girl, she can cover the girl's league. Then keep it an all boy's club over on the men's side.

fair enough. i hadn't considered that possibility. hopefully it's not how vivek and co. operate, though. some of the "nba 3.0" vision comes across as rather gimmicky, but if that vision has the potential to add a permanent female color analyst to the broadcast team as more than just sideline candy, then i'm for it. it's certainly not charity; kayte knows basketball...

for now, get her involved in the pre- and post-game shows again, embed her in the very fabric of the sacramento kings brand, and perhaps she'll be here to stay, with the possibility of moving up to the big chair whenever jerry reynolds cedes that position...

To whatever extent this may be true, it seems annoyingly like a self-fulfilling prophecy. At any rate, why couldn't she do both? The NBA and WNBA seasons are hardly concurrent.

Also, when the only person besides me with the guts to comment on his "no" vote says something which essentially amounts to "She sucks LOL!", I feel like I'm in very poor company. :(

See, that's not gonna happen...at least right away. By voting no, you make it appear as though you're anti-Kayte (especially with the crowd who doesn't bother to read comments).

So it would seem... I commented in this thread specifically to explicate my 'no' vote, but it appears as though I may have given the other 'no' voters too much credit.

I don't think Jerry will leave until Grant leaves. Napear doesn't work well with other smarts besides him. He only knows how to mesh with guys playing the rube.

I voted no, absolutely nothing to do with Kayte by the way, always enjoy listening to her talk about the game and her insights, just really not a fan of CD's style or his observations. Kayte yes, CD - no for me.
