Ok.. time for another quick copy and paste from last year's thread...

This is year TEN (10) of the KingsFans "Official" Fantasy Basketball League, a weekly scoring league that has been run since before KingsFans has been KingsFans.
  • If you'd like to join the league, just post here in the thread or send me a PM. (Note: People in the league last year get first option. Then comes people who've played in the past (but not last year), and finally there's usually room for KingsFans members who've never played in this league before but want to join now.) Let me know as soon as possible if you want in to make sure you get a spot if one's available.

  • I'm the commissioner by default. Decisions are generally made by whichever preference is voiced most among those who pipe up, with ties and initial settings going to what we've done before. (And I'm always willing to cede commissioneraging duties to any regular who'd like the job.)

  • The current draft time is set for Sat Oct 23 5:00pm PDT. As always, that is open to change if there are better times for everybody. Again please let me know your suggestions earlier rather than later. It is usually difficult to get a time that most people can agree on, though, so don't expect it to change (this is close to the time we've done it each of the last few years).

  • If you were in this league last year, hopefully you have been sent an invite. Please sign up or let me know that you don't plan on signing up so I can decide how many others to allow in and make sure we have an even number of teams.

  • Deadline for existing players to sign up or let me know you plan to sign up is: Mon Oct 11 12:00pm PDT. After that time you can still probably get in the league, but I will start giving away spots to others so there is no guarantee.

  • We've had anywhere from 10-18 teams in this league over the last few years. Even though the max teams is set to 18, sometimes we don't get that many. We had 18 last year, though, so hopefully we get another good response again for year ten.

And of course this one as well. I admittedly took a bit of break last year, but will be throwing the gauntlet back down this season if there is anybody man, or woman...or transsexual enough to take me on. There is of course the "other" league for all the amateurs, but really now.

Last year? Don't you mean last three years?

I, on the other hand, after a couple bad seasons was back to my usual close but no cigar self last year and I plan on keeping it up again this time.

I hope to actually make it for the draft for the first time ever this time around. I'll definitely be staying away from mechanics on the 23rd

There is also an auction league starting up by uolj on the boards this year. I'm beating a dead horse trying to get the league up to about 12 active managers. I know a few of us are doing both leagues.

I still don't know if I'll be able to participate or not, can someone please convert the PDT draft time into the time that is usually shown for games on nba.com?

If you're in Italy it will probably be difficult to make the draft, but you can let it auto-draft for you and still play in the league.

The draft time is 5pm Sacramento time, which is 8pm eastern time (which is what they show on nba.com) and I believe that means it will be 2am your time. (According to the internet, both Italy and the U.S. get off daylight savings time a week or more after the draft, so that shouldn't have any effect.)

I am used to wake up in the middle of the night to see Kings games so the time is not an issue.
I'll be happy to play if we are going to be even numbered, if not, no problem :)

Since we're getting closer to the draft, I can't quite give you a definite yes, yet, because I have to ensure we have an even number of teams. At this point if everyone who has expressed interest signs up you would be person #16. I'll let you know for sure by next Monday.

By the way, if anybody would like to try the auction draft and hasn't already signed up for the Daily/Auction League I started, feel free to let me know. We need at least one more manager and would like 3 or 5 more.

Actually it looks like we're at 14 teams just now, plus William Blake and Adam X who don't have passwords. I'm going to give the last few from last year who have invites but haven't signed or spoken up a few more days (and also because I don't have a lot of time until then), and then we'll add those two and close the league.
