Hall of Famer
This game is semi - early 3:30 ET. If I remember correctly - we played there last season on a Sunday at the same time and won. Let's make it a habbit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good news is that Kings have not lost on this day in the Adelman/Adleman (depends what you prefer
) era.
On March 19th 2002 Kings trashed Rockets to improve to 48-18 for the season. Kings were lead by Webber who had a monster game while guarded by Kenny Thomas - 35/12/5/3 st, 15-20 FG, Mike had 15/4/3/2st and DC had 9/4/10. The bench was usually strong. Bobby had 20/4/4 and Hedo had 12/8/2/2st The bench scored 48 pts total.
Chris Webber had 35 points, 12 rebounds and five assists as the Kings shaved their magic number for clinching a playoff spot down to one with a 110-87 victory over the Houston Rockets.
"I feel as a team collectively, and as individuals, we are getting better," Webber said. "We have been looking for that stride, and we are finally starting to feel it. We are starting to feel a little bit better about things. We just need to keep winning the games we have to play. The simple solution is winning those games you need to win, and we have been doing that lately."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings @ 33-32 still in the 7th position (thanks Nenad) in the PO race in the Western conference. The 5 games winning streak was snapped last night but we are still right there playing solid and holding our position. Generally, every time we keep this position after a road game - we are a solid step closed to achieving our goal. Considering the schedule - getting to the 6th spot might be a little too much to ask but it isn't over until it is over
17 games left and each and every one is crucial. Just hope that Finley stays away.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings lost the game last night but considering the circumastances and the possible risks - we can live with it and now that it is over we can move on with everything. Ron handled "outside BB" great. He kepr composure and was actually the voice of reason in a case in which Brad complained against a no call after he was assulted (attempted murder might be too strong). He is not popular in Indiana and the boos were expected.
The BB parts did not go too well. Le looked like there was some awsome party - the night before. He said that he sill knows the rims at Conseco. Too bad - they changed them. He clearly played below the standard that he created but at least we will have an opportunity to see how he bounces back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, that TMac is done - there are only 4 teams left for 2 spots in the Western conference. Kings have 17 games left, Kobes have 15, Hornets have 19 and Jazz have 17. Basically it looks like King and Kobes will get those spots even by defoult because those other 2 teams are just too inconsistant. To get out of this alive - You have to be able to do 2 things. You have to avoid any kind of losing streaks and You have to win head to head matchups = tiebreakes. On Wednesday Kings will have a good opportunity to take care of one of them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night we could see what is the down side of a 7 man rotation. We were unable to sustain the effort in a very physicall game. We got tired towards the end and couldn't respond. There were no alternatives on the bench. Also - we just don't have a backup PG. While it hasn't blowen up in our faces yet - it has showen how it could. Last night Jamal Tiinsley who BTW is only healthy to play us, wasn't offered any resistance by Mike Bibby late in the game. Due to lack of alternatives - there was no other solution and it cost us the game. (not exclusively but mostly). I am not sure if we can solve this and how but - it may cause another very short post season.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is the award time for the last game. TDM award went clearly to Danny Granger who is yet again a proof that a flagrant foul is not a smart way to go. As usual Kings did not bother guarding him. 23/7/2/2/2 - "welcome" to the club Danny. Jeff Foster made yet anoher step towards TDM - hall of fame with 7/16/2 which is well above average in each category.
The first ever LW-VC award went to David Harrison. 1-9 from the field, 2-4 from the FT line 2 TOs and a technical foul. Impressive performance. To bad he did not get more playing time. It was a close head to head battle with Stephen Jackson who unfortunately used the theory of big numbers to hit some shots late in the game. I dare all the other NBA players to continue where Harrison stopped last night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last game is yet another proff that a game consist of 4 quarters. We used all our ammunition in the 1st and shot mostly blanks later. Pacers woke up after the flagrant foul and we couldn't match the energy any more. Too many missed layups and defensive asignments cost us down the strech. Also RA got outcoached last night. We can't win the all. We should - but we can't.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wolves on Sunday afternoon. Just great. Wolves are the team that sucks and it isn't going anywhere. They haven't won a game in a while (7 games skid) and will consider us a perfect opportunity do change that. We are going there needing all wins that we can get and that puts us under pressure. It would be a great win by any standard.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - was abused last night - late in the game. Mike is tired and one can't relly blame him. Let's just hope that he continues to shoot well.
Ron - will have an opportunity to bounce back. Double dosage worked well last night. No reason to stop the treatement.
Bonzi - rebounded lot of his missed layups. If he hits more we win more and he has to rebounds less.
SAR - WTF was that last night. Can't hit a free throw to save his life. At least he rebounded well
Brad - 2 rebounds and an assist away from tripple double. Solid defense but some dumb decisions in the 2nd half. All in all - best king last night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - should have played more but Rick went with experience. We lost
Cisco - we need You man - but healthy
KT - did he play - last night ? Great defense on Granger.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
To bad - we got noone else left
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rick got outcoached last night. I was wondering - at what point it would be appropriate time to guard Granger ? Appearently, there was no such time. Thanks for taking Kevin out of the game. It is understandable. He made 3 other guyss look bad. We can't have that
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wolves are in the free fall and that makes them dangerous. They got nothing to lose. TDM favorite has got to be any guard on the floor. I will go with McCants and Banks as a underdog. Griffin will have a chance to work on his TDM - hall of fame application. LW-VC award favorite is Reed

Go Cavs !!!
