Kings/Wizards

i love Gil. but i wouldn't give up Kevin for him. maybe if we traded some bad contracts for some enders this offseason then signed him when he opts out next summer.

don't we have the same thing as gil but a few inches taller? thats ALOT to give up for a undersized SG... agent zero said he's opting out of his contract at the end of the year also.

1. I'd take this trade in a heartbeat.

2. No way the Wizards accept this deal. Not only is Gilbert a vastly superior talent at this point than what they get back, but he's more marketable and more stable in his personal life.

For a one year rental?

Arenas has already said that he will opt out of his contract at year's end. Kevin Martin isn't a superstar, but he is a good second option to a real star and is the only starter on this team I DON'T want traded. For the Kings to trade away their only real building block for a guy who could leave the Kings with nothing after next year is not a good plan.

Not to mention that I personally find Arenas to be vastly overrated, not to mention overpaid. He is glorified chucker. An immensely talented one, but a chucker nonetheless. He put up more shots this last season than anyone not named Kobe, LeBron or Vince Carter and yet had the lowest FG% of anyone in the top ten in FGA. He would have been worst in the top 15 if not for our own Mike Bibby.

I'm sorry, I don't think you rebuild around a tweener guard with a gunner mentality who might not even stick around after one season. And I thought the point of dumping Artest was to rid the team of an unstable personality who interrupts the flow of the offense with his bad shot selection. How would this be an improvement?
