[Game] Kings @ Wizards - Monday, Dec. 21 - 4 PST, 7 EST

Half of Cousin's shot were jump shots (I just went through the play by play). He took 3 threes and 8 other jumpers. I didn't lay all the blame on Karl, but he's definitely getting his fair share from me. He seems incapable of making in game adjustments. Teams rattle off big runs and he comes back with the same ridiculous lineup that got us in trouble in the first place. Why? Here, you played horrible, so play some more? The main reason we lost was because of defense. We scored enough to win, but when you're running 2 PGs out there at almost all times and a scrawny/thin SG as your SF, then yes, even scrubs will have great nights. Rudy should be ashamed of himself. Watching him play horrible defense (and knowing that he can do significantly better) is almost unbearable. Time after time, his man is camping out at the three point line (as in just standing still) and he's nowhere near him. And Cousins? You call yourself the leader? Ha! Couldn't lead a horse to water let alone an entire team.

Cousins and Gay are our best players, along with Rondo. If the coach doesn't fit your 2 biggest stars, then there is a big problem and Rondo can't solve that, as brilliant as he is. Either you trade your stars, or get a new coach. How long can this go on without a change? Cousins, even with his stats, is playing the worst ball in years. His effort and dedication has evaporated. He doesn't fight for boards even when he is in position. He used to slam into his own teammates going for the rebound, but now he is perfectly content just watching. This team doesn't fit the coach (or vice versa). It's a coach's job to get the most out of his roster. Does anyone on this board think Karl has come even somewhat close to accomplishing that? I sure don't. In fact, I think the opposite. Many times, I think Karl is the biggest problem.
Here's his shot chart for the game. Of the 7 baskets made I think a good number were off PnR/ just easy dunks.

Cuz just isn't in good condition at the moment... Whatever it may be. I hear word about a bad back

Cousins needs to realize that when we give him the ball on offense it's not because we want him to score. It's because we want our team to score. Once Cousins adopts this mindset, he'll take his game and this team to the next level. He's at his best when he's unselfish and actively looking for his teammates. Those double and triple teams have no chance if he chooses to play that way.

Off again. On again. Off again. They can't win against a half of a Wizards team. I'm sorry, but this team reeks of Loserville. They play when they want, when they are in the mood; they have mediocre energy as far as NBA teams go; overall, they don't need to win, they just would like to win every once in a while. So we get effort about half the time, and no effort about half the time. The team that gives no effort never wins and the team that gives effort wins about 50% of the time.

Man our team needs to watch the Spurs right now

Beautiful team
Spurs probably win NBA title this year... surprising absolutely no one. That's because Spurs are a team, have been for 15+ years with different parts meshing at the top with unquestioned leader, Coach Pop. Kings are a collection of odd parts, messing up, not meshing for consistency. Thus Kings are NOT a team.

I was recently looking at a box score from some random Spurs game in 2003. It was really weird seeing seeing Duncan, Parker, Ginobili and Pops name on there. To think those 4 have been on the same team since the days of C-webb and Peja. Really made me think about how much this team needs to just play more together, get to know each other...have some stability! I know we are all frustrated cause we want to win and we NEED to win, but it's gonna take time.

That would mean we win only 1/4 of the time.

Once I saw DMC go into hero ball mode I turned it off. Crap like that isn't going to get it done

Karl is the coach.
Gay and Casspi in the starting 5 provide great space for our inside game.
But to convince Karl, that he is best used inside, Cousins has to convert in the post.
So far he is struggling to do so.
Ever when Cousins was having his way in the post, we came back to him immediately inside. So Karl doesn't look entitled to play Cuz outside all the time. He just doesn't want to force feed Cuz inside, when he isn't converting and is not a fan of drawing fouls like Malone was, which might be a problem with Cousins playstyle.

But after all we still have won our share of games since the abysmal start of the season. Cousins plays through a major slump right now and sometimes he lets his offensive struggles effect his effort, which is a no go.
I think Cousins will be back on track at some point of the season.
