It's all rather arbitrary, but I likewise find myself hoping the Kings manage to get to 50. It would represent a 20-win improvement (!!!) on their finish last season, and 50 wins has always felt like the NBA cut-off for entry into the serious contender conversation.
5-3 for 50. Feels important.

First, here's who they have left.

Minnesota Timberwolves
@Portland Trail Blazers
@Portland Trail Blazers
San Antonio Spurs
@New Orleans Pelicans
@Dallas Mavericks
Golden State Warriors
Denver Nuggets

Certainly no cakewalk. But playing only 1 team w/a better record if they don't get to 50 it'll mark a bit of a slump going into the playoffs.

Plus, all the talk here over the last few years, including early this year, assumed the Kings would make only incremental, stepwise progress, if any. Well, they've already made much more than that, but, as you say, @Padrino, 50+ would really underline that point. I dunno that 50+ is the cutoff for "serious contender" - historically, it's more like 55+ in an 82-game season - but it's certainly been the somewhat arbitrary cutoff for "very good team."

To add to the above posts. Season ticket holders had to opt in last week for all the games. Tickets typically go on sale to the public a few days after the season ends for games 1 + 2. Games 5 + 7 will go on sale after it's guaranteed to happen.
Hmmm - season ticket holder here, I got the email re: annual renewal (yes, please) but just had a line in there about “we’ll let you know when we have info” when it came to playoff games. Just sent email to my rep to make sure I haven’t missed anything.

They could very well win those next three (Portland/Spurs) while resting Fox/Domas, etc. A win tonight allows us to consider that. Of course, more than 50 wins, we need to lock up that third spot. Getting greedy would also mean making a run at the #2 spot - which translates to homecourt advantage in the second round - not a small thing. Though Grizz have been on a run - our relatively easy schedule after tonight means we have a shot at that. I have a hard time seeing Domas being OK sitting on the bench with that possibility at hand (PUN INTENDED).
Yeah people wanting to rest Domas and him being ok with it are 2 different things.I can see him sitting if Kings are locked in a certain spot ( for example 3 games behind Grizzlies and 3 games ahead of 4th place team with 2 games to go) but other then that I doubt he sits

I had been calling 50 the ceiling all season but didn't seem realistic after the 0-4 start even once we got rolling.

Not like I'm some savant. I just want to see it.

I agree 50 is a good number to shoot for. I do think we are going to see a lot less 50-60 teams as the competition level is on the rise. Injuries are largely to blame for the lower win totals this year but it’s possible that there will be only one non competitive team in the whole western conference next season. ( I’m assuming Houston makes some moves to be a lot more competitive) while the Spurs will likely bottom out one more year

Season ticket holders and other ticket plan holders will get first dibs (and may have already been presented with an opportunity to purchase). General public, unfortunately, will have to wait until the schedule is locked down.
Yeah, the last couple of games, I went to the left invitations on my seat to attend a sales pitch at halftime for 2023-2024 Season tix, with the perk being an early option for playoff tix this year (should we make the playoffs). It pained me that I just live too far away for season tickets to make sense. Back in the day, I had an easy time getting them up here in the Fresno area because Ticketmaster at Tower Records had no line, and I could be first on when they opened up. We will see how this works out in this new age.

As others have shared - we essentially clinched a playoff birth - and it will become official soon enough regardless of this result. Having said that, I'm curious to see the response if we win. Will there be some quiet emotion from the players/ staff/ fans? Or will everyone remain stoic and dry eyed?

Coach Brown has given the OK to celebrate. I expect we'll see something if they win. I hope not if they clinch with a loss though.

Playoff tickets for under $100 in the lower bowl is an insane deal. Heck - anywhere in the arena.

Not that you would - but you could easily sell them for $250... easy.
