frustrating to be up 20 and lose. lotta ref bs from what I saw too.

also I switched my League Pass on today and so I was rewarded with a montage of Kobe buzzer beaters at halftime instead of the talking heads. uncool!
The refs are annoying for us, but they aren’t the real reason for any of our losses except maybe 1. The reality is that this is just a very flawed team that still has a long way to go.

SLAB

Hall of Famer
Didn’t expect to win anyways. But losses like this after losses that shouldn’t happen like to Charlotte and Washington suck. Still just waiting for the dam to fully collapse. Not feeling the faith.

It was an entertaining game and generally a good effort. We looked like the better team in the first half but couldn't sustain it. Sabonis' injury is unfortunate but we can't just be a 35 win team + Sabonis. The team needs to be competitive without him as well.

Christian Braun is what the Kings need, him in the Kings starting line up and the Kings are a playoff team imo. His motor is relentless high IQ and he really locked down Huerter, I'm tired of wings like KZ/Harkless who are labelled good defenders simply due to their physical profile.

Fox carried hard and Lyles had some really nice spurts without Sabonis and the defensive scheme imo was good against Jokic.

After his hot start to the season, Fox has really disappointed.. I really thought this would be the year he'd finally take the All-Star jump. Might be an over-reaction, but I don't think Fox is ever going to be THAT guy. He's still the same ball dominant PG who can't shoot or play defense. His whole game is mid-range shots. For a guy as fast and athletic as he is, I don't understand his inability to get to the rim and finish.

I've always hated the idea of building around Fox. It was never going to work unless he made serious improvements as a shooter. You know his shooting is a liability when he consistently misses key stretches in the 4th quarter because we'd rather have Davion's defense out there.

Without Sabonis tonight, Fox needed to step up, but he didn't. He looked like someone who was content getting his. Maybe that's being unfair to him, but these are the expectations every single team in the league sets for their stars.

Monte needs to call around and see what the market for Fox is. Does he have another trade in there for an additional AS?

It's not an overreaction regarding fox not being that guy. He has been in the league for 5 going on 6 years, so he's no rookie. By now he may just be who he is, a borderline but not quite all-star player which isn't the worst outcome. Ideally he'd be the second or third best player on a deep playoff team and the strategy should be to construct the roster where he doesn't have to be that guy and Monte may have just succeeded in doing that to some extent by acquiring Sabonis. Now I still don't think that is enough to make the Kings a deep playoff team, but at least there is some kind of direction. I firmly believe that we are one borderline/all-star caliber player from being a deep playoff team, but how Monte could miraculously add another guy like that is the question.

This could be an interesting matchup tonight. The Kings know what is on the line. Coach Fernandez may elect to go small. And Denver may be coasting...
It was indeed an interesting game, although the coaches went with their most experienced centers in place of Sabonis. You just had a feeling after the first quarter that Denver was going to get closer and closer until they took the lead. Even then, the Kings tied it up and kept fighting.

I know we've lost 2 in a row, n domas is out, so it seems bad.

That was a pretty good effort from the squad though all things considered.

If the bench hits some 3's we might have won that game, n if you told me that was our win-condition before it started I'd have signed up for it.

Also I think its fair to cut KM some slack in a 1st time matchup vs players the caliber of Michael Porter Jr. interested to see what kind of adjustments he's gonna make in tomorrows game.

Fox had 26 points on 10/16 shooting and 3/5 from three last night. He has almost the exact same season shooting splits as Doncic.

Saw this one slipping away. We are soft. Keegan needs to rebound. Good to see RH get some decent minutes. Monk's shooting has gone cold. MJP was killing us and no one could do anything to stop it.

His scoring isn't the problem. He's been fine there. His issues are he is a terrible defender and a subpar playmaker. The latter means he will rarely make the players around him better. Also I haven't looked it up, but it wouldn't surprise me if he and Huerter were the worst defensive backcourt by a good margin.

In terms of trade value, it's never going to be where we want. We aren't getting some package that includes multiple first rounders and/or prospects. Unfortunately we are just better off keeping Fox and praying that we can gel more nights than not. I think we can make the playoffs with Fox, but I doubt we ever go far with him.

I am not sure if you're being ironic...

One just put up 60pts 21rebs 10asts... the other put up 26pts 4asts 1reb....

Doncic is scoring exactly 10 more points a game than Fox is..while also having better stats everywhere else... lol Fox doesn't even touch Doncic on any level.

I'm not sure what argument you're going at here?

KZ came in and actually succeeded in this drop, help, and run back out to shooters defensive scheme, again. Then went bye bye. Again. He picks up fouls like they're the new NFT but as the iconic Jerry Reynolds would say, you get 6.
This current coaching staff seems a bit too sensitive about fouls. Some players will always need to able to use their fouls, in order to be aggressive enough.
