It's not Reggies fault, there are 7 other coaches out there helping him and they all did their job. The players can't follow through. We don't have a Kobe, Lebron, Melo, Arenas, Iverson to throw it to in the clutch, and thats pretty much our problem. We need to trade Salmons and Miller for a guy like that, because as far as I am concerned theres a small chance that another 8-10 pick is gonna find us that guy. And that was most certainly not the play Reggie drew up, no one in their right mind would draw up that play. His play was to have Beno drive it on the inside and score a lay in or kick it out to the corner for a wide open shot.
Once again, how is Reggie responsible for guys choking at the line?
Ok, fire all of em.
Anyone can see that the last play of the 4th tonight and the last play of the 4th the other night against Portland was a ****ing joke. They're not even getting a god damn shot off! How embarrassing is that?..
Do you honestly think Reggie drew it up like this.. Beno drive to within 6 feet of the basket then kick it back 3 feet to a wide open Hawes. But spencer don't shoot it you pass it over 1 guys head to bobby jackson who is 32 feet out????
Do you really thnk that??
I hate how Kayte and Koz keep saying that we are "learning" from these losses. I'm not denying that their are things to take from these type of games, but the fact is, from what ive seen, we aren't learning ****.
we are learning. we are learing that we don't need games to come down to the wire and that we need Martin and Cisco back. How many of you know that both of those guys would have been in the game in these situations. I would have been Beno, Kevin, Cisco, Salmons, and Miller.
IWhat I do know a coach is responsible for is late-game substitutions, and late-game plays. Both were horrendous in this game. Actually, they've been bad all season.
That play call, I think, was in direct response to the public comments made by a Maloof about playing the young guys. And like you said, he had a good look anyway. We've been involved in plenty of close games this year already and the only once (the PHX game) did we get a good shot at the end of the game. Even then the shot was by Douby.
Yeah, i hear you. Damn its gonna be nice when we can see that lineup on the floor again.
missed the game but hey spencer had his second 6 block game =o and Salmons trade value incresing ^_^
Too bad JT was in foul trouble from the looks of it with 4 fouls in 13 minutes.
Very well said. Ever since Reggie has been hired, not once have I said this was Reggie's fault...until tonight. It was an awful coaching job.Pretty angry right now. So, I'm trying to compose myself. First. It was a terrible coaching job tonight. This is the first time that I've ever said anything about Reggie's game coaching, but there were more mistakes made that I could shake a stick at.
The oxymoron of the night came from Jerry Reynolds when Mikkie came into the game in overtime for Hawes ( Please explain that one for me ) and Jerry said, Moore coming in for Hawes for defense.
Please explain this one for me. 4 minutes left in the first half and Thompson is reinserted into the game. He grabs a rebound, drives the length of the floor and makes a nice bounce pass to Hawes for a score. Timeout called by the other team, and Thompson is removed from the game.
Around 17 seconds left in the game and NJ has the ball. Were up by three. By the time they get set were down to around 8 seconds. Why don't we just foul them and send them to the line. Last time I checked you can't score three points shooting two freethrows.
When was the last time, when the game was on the line with only seconds left, that we drew up a play that actually looked like we drew up a play.
There is no way we should have lost this game. It probably doesn't matter in the larger scheme of things. Were probably not going anywhere anyway. But I'm laying this one at Reggie's feet. What was it Joe Maloff wanted? An identity. A resemblence of a plan. You tell me you saw that from Reggie tonight, and dinner is on me.
When you have a 3 point lead with 8 seconds left and you do something that stupid, you absolutely can lay it on the coaching staff, i agree we dont play defense and that hurts our chances, but I mean come on, I think everyone in that arena tonight would have told you to foul right there. Everyone except the coaching staff that isAgain you cant blame it all on the coaching staff
the reason we suck in defending is because we dont have DECENT defenders.. some of them are so scared of being owned inside that they need double team which opens up the shooters..
these are the times im wishing we could trade salmons for bowen
the 2 things that would work for us there are..
we have a defensive player to teach those guys how to play D
we dont have to worry about bowens accidental foot landing on one of our players
spurs need offense badly we need defense badly win win

i said cant blame it ALL on them they have a hand on that too.... i just know that we seriously need some defensive presence in here.... we have too much offense IMO
judging brad miller? im pretty sure he might be out rebounded for a missed free throw and the game would still be in a dead lock...
the coaching staff didnt tell miller to throw a fit so he can get a T
for the record he did have a good game though
these guys should try full court press... i know and i have seen it been done here where i am in college and it really suffocates the offense...
Actually, what Miller did was inexcusable. But it came in overtime. The game was lost in the last 30 seconds of regulation. But that aside, can anyone explain to me why, in the final couple of defensive sets, you take out Hawes, who has 6 blocked shots and 9 rebounds, and is the energizer bunny out there, and put in Mikkie Moore, who stands and watches Harris drive in for an uncontested layup.
As for the full court press, they did use it tonight, and caused a turnover at least once. College and the NBA are entirely different however. It can be a useful tool, but you have to pick your spots. A good pt guard ( And Harris falls into that catagory ) can burn you out of a press. Most times resulting in an easy layup.
