I feel like it could be beneficial for fans and the team alike to be counted out after the Huerter and Monk injuries. Until last year we'd be cursing ourselves for sweeping the Mavs who were competing for playoff position while we need a homerun in the draft. Those losses hurt but maybe we'll now flip the script again.
And at least there's a chance we'll get Monk back if we can hang around the post season.
it’s all on Fox, Sabonis, and Keegan’s shoulders for the foreseeable future and if this is what is needed to kickstart Keegan’s development into guy number three for us, so be it.
Despite the Jazz being a tanking team for most of the last two seasons, he and Keyonte George are the only guards on their roster young enough to be thrown into garbage duty.
43 wins in the books now with 8 games left. Still a lot left to play for. Bench scoring is going to be difficult without Monk and Huerter but getting Lyles and Vezenkov back helps there. And the offense overall looked really good tonight. Keegan and HB need to be ready every night. Those guys finding some consistency is what we need to go on a nice run to close out the season.
knock wood because scoring hasn't come as easy this season but at least we have our defenders healthy with the season on the line and a lot of guys eager to take some of that scoring load on. Barnes has been better. Keegan was good. Mitchell is making all that mid-season "trade bait" run pay dividends. Sasha being healthy can hopefully get some of that Huerter 3 point specialist.
The Kings broadcast had a graphic showing that the team is 23-28 when Fox has six or fewer assists. I tried to talk about this back in January, but the pattern is even clearer now. They need him to pass the ball.
It's gonna be a completely different team. After Davion our rotation was Lyles Len Kessler Sasha. Smallest guy 6'7". Ellis talking Huerter's spot and Davion taking Monk's makes us slower, more half court oriented, and better defensively. Keon improves 3 point shooting. They'll be a lot less aggressive on the break. We have size and defense. It'll be very interesting to see what this team looks like over the last 8 games.
ESPN or TNT need to lock Harrison Barnes up for a future broadcasting contract ASAP (assuming that's something he would want to do). That guy was born to talk in front of a camera.
