Wow, is IT really this good? He plays like a 10 year veteran; not a rookie. Would you say at this point, he's the organization's 2nd most prized asset behind Cousins??

Yes. Jimmer, in my honest opinion, is probably our 7th or 8th best asset on the team, 6th at best right now, which is not really a dig at him.

I was wondering that too. I just came home as well so I didn't hear the reason.. Figured they wanted to bring him back slowly or something.

THe thing about Reke is that despite all the talk about him being selfish on the court, he may be one of the classiest, most selfless people off it.

Just reading through this game thread. There are really some people who have it out for Reke lol. The hate for him is starting to become like the hate some 49er fans have for Alex Smith. There's some valid criticism directed towards him but it seems there are alot of people invested in seeing him do bad.
Yeah I really don't get why he is such a polarizing figure. I guess people need something to complain about.

Just like how when times were good we would find a way to complain that Webber/Peja (depending on who's side you were on) were costing us games

Most likely the whole Rubio thing and others really got their hopes up during his rookie season. I love the progress he's making this year. He needs to add more obviously but maybe there are some that are just impatient and want him to be an All NBA player right now. People are drawing the line too quickly on a player thats still growing.

I missed tonites game, but Reke came off the bench, and this was actually his request? Is this because it's his first game back from the injury or......
If this is something that continues, then I will be a bit shocked by that development. Realistically, it's actually a smart way to go. Anytime it's that time of the game to sub out Thomas or Thornton, then Reke comes in. Sure his minutes will be way down, but man, talk about 6th man of the year. He could be extremely dynamic leading our second unit.

Those were crazy times. I think this team has such an exciting young core and I don't want them to give up on any of them so quickly. It's insane that some of them want to trade Reke away so soon.

All I can say is that the only acceptable reason for trading Reke is if we get this year's #1 pick in return. Or Lebron James.

As exhibited in the past several weeks, scoring isn't our big problem at this point.

During shoot-around, he told coach to let Salmons keep playing, since he had been playing so well and with such confidence. Basically winning is more important than starting to Tyreke. Good for him, he gets it.
I think we'd be crazy to trade him this soon. He's still so young.

I see relatively few games, but I don't really know why he is called selfish either. In the games I have seen this year, he has been setting people up quite consistently. If only we were hitting more outside shots, particularly at the beginning, he would have lot more assists (not to mention, the lane would be more open for his drives).
Yes, there are parts of his game that need work; most notably the jumper. However, I felt that not only was he playing quite well overall (thought he has really improved on defense, and giving lot of effort there), he was doing whatever was necessary in the interest of the team. He never complained (at least not publically), when he was moved to SF position, and lost his huge size advantage, has often been focusing more on setting people in the beginning of the game, and been working hard on defense. It's sad that people focus on his shortcomings, instead of valuing what he brings to the team.

Crazy talk. You've just added a player who requires the ball more then Reke. He is only a slightly better shooter and is a significant downgrade on the defensive end.
People confuse Reke with being a natural scorer to being selfish. It was really remarkable tonight to see him transform into a totally new player when he went from PG to SG/SF. When he played with IT, he was able to get the ball in spots where it made it easy for him to get to the basket and create for himself and others. It also totally helped the team keep in the ball movement going as he wasn't taking 10-12 seconds up of him just dribbling.
Maybe we've been looking at the wrong guy to come off the bench in the vaunted Manu/Harden role. Outside of being a far worse shooter than both, Reke fits those 2 player profiles far more accurately than Thornton does of being a strong defender, willing passer, good ball-handler, and being able to score the ball.

How about the crazy theory: People just want to see the Kings win and don't put Tyreke on a plateau where he can't be questioned.

Feeling guilty? I wasn't talking about you. Critcism is ok. He's not beyond that. Blaming him for things when things are going bad during a game when its really not his fault is what I'm talking about. Read the silly stuff people were saying in the middle pages of this thread.

Reke has beast potential, and shows it from time to time. Its cool to be critical (I've been critical of Reke plenty of times), but its pretty goofy to give up on him.
