Interesting observation, and a good use of the summer league time if that's what they were indeed doing.
Broadcast was not much better though: "McLemore disappointed last season, because he didn't get enough minutes." hahahaha.....Boys woke up there in the 2nd... but I most grateful that Clyde Frazer is NOT on the broadcast.

Nik really reminds me of Manu, I would love if during the season he could at times play the point (I would say right now he's a way better PG than Ray) while Ben plays the two. Nik has that legit natural feel and talent for both scoring and passing that we literally have not had since Doug Christie I guess. The pace he plays at is near perfect and man could I see him and Cousins on the pick n roll for the next decade tearing teams apart. Perfect 3rd option for us.
Holy crap am I impressed with the guys skillset literally the 1st pick since DMC I have had zero issue or concern about after actually watching them. I wonder if drafting Nik actually made it easy to let go of IT since he could essentially be the 2nd/3rd PG on the squad.
#I also really would like Brooks as our 6th man he can just do so many things at the offensive end he can be our Jamal Crawford (more driving/slashing than shooting).
#Mooreland's athletic ability and contesting of shots really impressed me
#Acy terrible first quarter but came good the jumper is looking might sweet needs to shoot it more when open
#D-Will did that typical D-Will game where he makes your mouth water
#Mclemore shot well but the ball handling is still shocking
I don't remember this cause I had never really seen him play and I asked on here if he could be a smaller Gordon Hayward and I got a big no. But yeah dude's got more natural playmaking ability than anyone on the roster from a offensive stand point he could easily play the PG position. On defense we can put Ben on the PG due to his insane athletic abiliity.Remember at the combine he said teams were looking for him to play point and we were one of then and we all laughed. Love Him and the fact the his shooting is translating to the league unlike like some other people.

I think someone on here compared him to Manu earlier (might have been Brick) and I can see the similarities big time from the pace to the confidents and smarts.
He might make a good 5th big. Our problem is he would be our 6th or 7th.
It was just a question. No need to get snippy about it.Have you seen this place after a loss?
Didn't think I was snippy. Sorry. It was just a question. No need to get snippy about it.
That was a cardinal mistake for a pro, but I'll chalk that up to not knowing the personnel. I'd still take Joel Meyers a hundred times out of a hundred over either of the guys we're stuck with.Broadcast was not much better though: "McLemore disappointed last season, because he didn't get enough minutes." hahahaha.....
Huh? I'm quite certain that the decision to sign Salmons had more to do with New Orleans losing two-thirds of their bench guard rotation to free agency than with Evans. In fact, I'd be surprised if the decision to sign Salmons had **** all to do with Evans. The Pelicans just signed Salmons today I can't help wonder how Evans fits into their future plans... but about the SL game it was a nice showing imo. Player development is a process and I for one like our youngsters.

Maybe they had a meeting with their coach, and learned many interesting things about themselves?![]()

It kind of pisses me off that they will play REALLY well one day and then then the next day they go back to ISO play. All it shows me is that they CAN do it and they CAN WIN when they do it, but that for some reason they don't want to do it consistently.
Malone needs a rule that there needs to be at the minimum two pass attempts on all offensive plays unless it's transition for an easy bucket or something.
Watching the game now and the 3rd quarter just ended. I have to say that the biggest thing I feel is a bit of disappointment. Dwill is soo...talented. Honestly, out of everyone on the SL team, he has the most potential but I don't know if he'll ever get there. He keeps flashing the talent in this game with a crazy turn around jump shot that hit nothing but net, going up for rebounds, a beautiful change of angle shot right under the hoop to avoid the leaping shot blocker, even a gorgeous 3 point shot.
But then again, we've seen time and time again during SL and also last year where he looks completely lost and over matched. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but there is something holding his game back. Not sure if it's confidence in his skills or a mental issue that causes him to go into full goofus mode.
Thought it was interesting the commentators mentioned the Kings coaching staff wanted DWill to get to the line 10 times. I think that gets him into a more aggressive attack mode, even if he is shooting 20 ft fade aways from time to time. Good strategy for him. It's absolutely mental and it's effect on confidence and 'feel'. When he has his 'mojo' going, like he did when he first came in with us this past season, he is a big factor at the 3 position. As soon as doubt creeps in, as to whether he's making the right play or decision....it's downhill big time. It effects everything.
He's a guy who needs to be on the floor a lot, in order to "play through it" and gain flow. I believe he played better when he was starting and didn't have to play behind anybody, because he knew he would get a lot of time on the floor, regardless of mistakes. It actually 'freed him up' mentally. Hopefully things go enough his way, where he has a chance for this to happen

Western Conference Finals?
I have to agree with this assessment. I couldn't pinpoint it but this sounds like exactly what they were doing. Great observation. The first seven minutes or so of the game were very...interesting...on offense. Baja and I agreed that it looked the entire offense for the first seven minutes of the game was a "sham" offense so to speak. We were running plays that were designed to get the ball to Cousins, only without an actual Cousins in the game, Quincy Acy was standing in. For the most part the offense succeeded in getting the ball to Acy in spots where Cousins would go beast mode. Quincy Acy? Not so much.
After the first seven minutes or so we began running an offense that was based on the actual players we had on the floor, and it looked a lot better.
Nice to NOT see or hear WCF. And, thanks to the comments here, I just fast-forwarded through the first quarter.
I'm very happy with what I'm seeing right now, as it appears our coaching staff has actually been working with the guys between the games. There's definite improvement between the first game and this one.
I think our Kings are gonna be a lot more fun to watch this year.![]()
