Couldn't watch this one. The boxscore looked good for a couple of players, not sure why all of a sudden they all decided to play well together, maybe it's the team they were facing? Ehhh...regardless I just hope to see some type of improvement this summer where it can transfer over and help the regular season team. By the way, that Moreland block above me ^ is absolute demolition 0_0.

What I think what is amazing is how organized the team looked offensively in a week or so together and considering their skill level. I also thought there defense was pretty darn good. I was watching Nik on D and he wasn't bad at all. Three cheers to the coaching staff and the willingness of the players to play as a team.

I was just about to post this. How can you not sign him after watching this. If you like the way he's playing in summer league and you like this highlight then you absolutely must sign him.
The problem is that we have so many PFs and signing him would put us over the luxury tax. I'm not sure the latter is so consequential to the owners. I'd like to know his wing span. I sure like his attitude.

According to DraftExpress his wingspan is 7'3.5" and his standing reach is 9'2".

Does anyone else feel like Ben looks a lot more like a track and field athlete than a basketball player? His athleticism and coordination scream out hurdles/high jump/long jump/ 100 meter.
Yeah. Remember back in the day, when several football teams were bringing in track and field stars, to try to turn them into legit players....and it rarely, if ever, worked out

Moreland seems like he could be a Keon Clark type presence on the defensive end. He's very long and can get off the floor with his lean build. He led the Pac 12 in both blocked shots and rebounding. It would be surprising if he doesn't find a way into the NBA this season

I'll be pissed if they don't sign Moreland. I honestly don't care if we have 500 pfs if they are all mediocre. This guy brings exactly what we need on the defensive end. For all I care, the rest of our pf's, with the exception of Acy, can rot on the bench

I gotta say, Stauskas thus far has made me feel a TON better about losing IT. His playmaking has basically come as advertised. The dude is flat out a legit offensive talent and he simply doesn't have any holes in his game. It might take him a bit to adjust to the NBA, like it does for all rookies, but I'm incredibly excited adding a player with the ability and the want to make the right play.

Ben remains the "intrigue" prospect and it's nice to see he's added more tools than he had last season. The game hasn't slowed down for him yet, but there's noticeable improvement in most areas of his game.

I like the Moreland invite. He's shown to be a poor mans version of what we absolutely need. I wouldn't mind him signed and put in Reno to develop or be the last guy on the bench here for a while.

Does saying this publicly make you feel like you have turned to the dark side. :) Nik is not helpless on defense at least in the summer league. His skill level sure supports the idea that this was a deep draft.

Maybe they had a meeting with their coach, and learned many interesting things about themselves? :p

The Pelicans just signed Salmons today I can't help wonder how Evans fits into their future plans... but about the SL game it was a nice showing imo. Player development is a process and I for one like our youngsters.

The first seven minutes or so of the game were very...interesting...on offense. Baja and I agreed that it looked the entire offense for the first seven minutes of the game was a "sham" offense so to speak. We were running plays that were designed to get the ball to Cousins, only without an actual Cousins in the game, Quincy Acy was standing in. For the most part the offense succeeded in getting the ball to Acy in spots where Cousins would go beast mode. Quincy Acy? Not so much.

After the first seven minutes or so we began running an offense that was based on the actual players we had on the floor, and it looked a lot better.
