it will it will someday.............Rome said:I like this plan. The best part of it is the Brad/Hart for Chandler/Duhon. I hope I wake up one day and see the trade to down...

walker60 said:Chandler averaged 1.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, .3 Blocks, and 5 fouls per game in the Miami series. He had more fouls than blocks and rebounds combined! Shag averaged 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting over 60% from the field. That's hardly slowing him down.
Brad Miller had a better series against Tim Duncan than Chandler did against Shaq. Chandler's contract is as bad, if not worse, than Miller's. I think a trade involving Miller and Chandler as the main pieces would be doable.
Packt said:The numbers are what they are. Game 4, when the Bulls were looking to tie the series up, a lot of credit was given to Chandler for "slowing" down Shaq, then he goes and injures himself. Preposterous as it sounds, Tyson came out of the playoffs with some positives; Brad on the other hand was a bust.
If Chandler was as bad as Miller, why do we even want him? We can’t be the only one intrigued.
Kings113 said:Chandler didn't put up his usual 5-8 pts, 9-12 rebs, 2-3 blks, but he did give Shaq problems a bunch of times during that series. I'd think battling Shaq most of the game takes some out of you.
Ben Wallace hasn't been slowing him down either, nor has Ben putting up his crazy numbers like usual (some of that goes to the Pistons problems as a whole, but still refers to the match-up), but he's been giving him a bunch of problems. Just like Collins did in the Nets series.
It's the intangibles, not the stats. Offensive fouls, ball pokes, ball tips, some flops? Yeah, they don't show up on the stat sheet.
Nobody can slow down Shaq (one game or maybe two, in a series, sure), but you can definitely give him frustrations and problems. It's happened in all three series so far.
walker60 said:So in this series, you are telling me that Chandler forced enough offensive fouls, ball pokes, ball tips, and flops to justify his more fouls and turnovers in the series than blocks, points, assists, and rebounds combined? Intangibles or not, the guy had a terrible series...no getting around it. I think the Bulls would give him up for Miller.
walker60 said:The numbers are what they are, and they are terrible! Miller had 5 blocks in the series, Chandler had two. Chandler had 1 point, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block to go along with his 4 fouls and 3 turnovers in game 4. I guess he did hold an aging Shaq to 8-13 shooting.......there's the only positive you could twist in his favor. Chandler, hurt or not, followed up his stellar performance in game 4 with one of the worst games in these playoffs by recording no stats other than 5 minutes, 5 fouls, and 1 turnover.
Chandler was as bad as Miller, if not worse, in the opening round series. The reason we would want him is because he is younger than Brad and he is a defensive oriented player. He is not better than Brad, but he will fit our new defensive scheme. I don't think that the Bulls are as high on keeping Chandler as you think. IMO, they would trade Chandler and Duhon for Miller and Hart.
Packt said:So Chandler is a better defender, has a similar contract, yet younger and the Bulls are going to trade him and a young PG they extended last summer for an older, less defensive, better offensive player, yet was a bust in the PO and J.Hart. By your accordance, Miller was the better player, yet you want Chandler -more fouls than blocks and rebounds combined- to be your guy in the middle. Miller's foul to block/rebound ratio wasn't great either.
You make the foul situation sound so bad, when we probably could've used a few here and there against SA.
Did Tyson have a better series? No, but he escaped the negative criticism and actually received kudos for his effort, thus his value remains high.
walker60 said:Miller is better than Chandler. Look at their stats, and add all the ball pokes, slaps, ninja rolls, and flops you want and give them to Chandler. Miller is still better. I didn't make the foul situation sound bad...it is bad by Chandler's own doing. 5 fouls in 5 minutes? Has anyone other than Danny Fortson done that before? Yes, he was guarding Shaq, but Brad Miller was guarding Tim Duncan and then had to switch over to help on Tony Parker after Mike Bibby did his best impression of a matador.
The reason we would want to pick up Chandler is so we could get a defensive player who's a bit younger. The new coach is going to preach defense, and Chandler will be a better fit than Miller. As much as I've bashed Chandler, he's better than he played in the Miami series.
I just fail to see how/why Chandler's value is so high right now after his performance in the playoffs and why the Bulls are unlikely to trade him. Miller doesn't have much trade value either, but he's more talented than Chandler, albeit he is older. Throw in the fact that the Bulls dont really need Duhon at the point, and could use another veteran or two, and I think it is a realistic trade. They are getting the best player in the deal, while we are getting two defensive guys that will contribute to our new philosophy.
Kings113 said:Slaps? Ninja rolls? Uh?
Miller's better offensively, experience, absolutely. Defensively and athletically? No.
Tim Duncan is not Shaq. Brad Miller also wasn't doing much to stop him by not fouling, along with TD not being a good FT shooter.
Chris Duhon isn't a bad scorer btw, he has range out to 3PT land, is a good slasher/penetrator, and a good passer.
